If you are reading and/or following my build (thank you), I would suggest checking out the link. He cleverly extended his UMG wheelbase without altering the body panels and everything lines up looking factory. Very well done.

so, I was not happy with the body overall look.

I started stripping and cutting everything that is not needed and am in the process of redesigning the overall look.

I ordered aluminum diamond plate for the engine cover and maybe some body armor.

I cut windshield off since I am going rock crawler with this one. Trimmed the slider mount plates and repositioned electronics/wires.

put my cantilever suspension on this truck in reverse to fit since frame is so short.

going to put on bent steering and panhard links for even more upfront clearance.

more to, waiting on glue and putty to dry. come.

engine cover is completed. Cab is in the raw base coat.

added a cross bar to cage. the styrene has a metal bar inside it so it is solid and I drilled through cage then JB weld in place for support. waiting on putty to dry to sand/blend together then paint.

Lol, just a little surface rust, brushes right off with elbow grease. The cage works perfect. I drilled through original cage so everything bolts together. Very solid with no play. This thing is a tank.

I used jb weld in spots for reienforcement on cage.

small redesign. I lowered rear spare tire to frame and removed cross bar tire mount.

I wanted the rear cog lower and over wheels to provide better traction and less top heavy.

I will need to patch holes in rollcage rear bars where tire mount was removed.

but all in all, I like this look better.
