Default My New 1.9 Tuber V2

My latest build, this should be finished

Again...no step by step pictures, sorry..
This rig pic is 70% done, the rest just adding panels, screw mountings, painting and just some cosmetics.
Also ride height is just right.
For those 2 short lightbar cases are 3D printed and led size is 2835 (led strips). Will add brake lights on those 2 big holes on the rear and front lights.

My goal for the chassis/cage is just make it raw stainless steel look but of course I have to clean up the welding residue with cleaning agent. Not sure about the panels color, maybe black or metallic red.
Using 5mm stainless steel rod for the chassis.

Just showing a video for the oil filled RC4WD 90mm Dual Spring (newest but not the medium one), really smooth
Rig weight is 8lbs.

More pics to come...

Very nice work, looking good

Is that using a planetary gearbox?

I used some 600 grit emery cloth to clean up a stainless cage, worked great.

Thanks..
yup, using planetary gearbox in there with 2 speed transfer case. I would love to use SCX10 III gearbox and transfer case but that planetary one is the cheapest even combined with separate transfer case.
btw I will make the 2 speed mechanism with lever, manual by hand. No servo needed.

I never thought of the emery cloth before you mentioned it, but I have taken the cleaning agent already though. Anyway, Thanks for the info.

Made 2 speed lever mechanism, locked into position just by resistance from tightness of the screw for now.

Nice

As for the linkage staying put, if you redesign it I'm imagining a detent built into both positions. Basically a ball on one side and a recess on the other. Anyway thats what popped into my head, carry on.

Yes, I'm thinking like that too. After I print and installed it. But still going to figure out where I have to put them.
I'm building the transfer case cover, I could make the recesses right there but the cover has to be rigid. My problem the cover just floating on the floor (maybe some screws of course) but still not rigid, needs more tinkering on that

More updates,

At last I can made my own light lenses and lightbar lenses (lightbar lenses installed already like in the pics below). Above are raw after printing and below are after a clear coat,

While I primer and mock up, I actually love the grey color and front grill in black,

Need to make bracing beside the driver and passenger,

Made steering wheels, left is shorter than right one (in depth). The longer one looks like more fit between the dash and driver's hand,

Black bucket seat only for mock up, will be the same as driver seat which is PRP.

More updates...

Added braces under the hood edges.

Driver and passenger braces added...

Interior almost finish..and get painted soon.

next is make fuel cell (aka battery case) mounting to the frame and side skid plates. I know it will only fit small lipo, I have other room to run bigger lipo capacity under the hood. But my plan is putting a motor/engine cover in there so fuel cell is other option to put the lipo.

I'm also building a new lightbar that has slimmer profile, to get this I make like a projector. Leds is on the bottom of the case and projected to a mirror at 45 degrees angle. I do this because I can't get small led strip. 10mm wide led strip is the smallest I can find.
