| Old Project Revival - The Roc'n Zuk
Time to revive a project I never got around to finishing. Some of the older members may remember this chassis but i'll give a quick rundown. I acquired this chassis from RCC Member Turtle in fall of 2012. I entered into RC4WD's Scaler Build Off in October of that year. I had the body and chassis painted by a friend Tozrovr. This was my first foray into a custom build and at that time I was in way over my head and the project got shelved. I ended up getting out of RC for a while but now a few buddies have gotten me back into it. I'm hoping this thread keeps me motivated to get this done. Here is what we are working with. The cage is built upon an SCX10 chassis and built around an Axial Trail Ranger Body. It has sat like this for the better part of 7 years. It has some plastic in spots to mock a bed and the spare tires are held in by zip ties currently. I will likely go to a single spare tire instead of the duals. The chassis is showing rust through the paint. Blasting and repainting will be the finishing touch for this build. And here is the 1:1 I drew inspiration from. Now to start the build I found stock scx10 axles and transmission. Hoping to have it as a roller by the end of the week. Stay tuned! Last edited by Hypn0t1q79; 02-16-2021 at 05:42 AM. |

Could you maybe try reducing the size of your first few picks. Most guys on here won't even take the time to look at them, including me. Ernie |

Got some time to do some work on this. Went through the axles and transmission and put new bearings and grease in. Tossed those on. It's a roller now. I also removed the spare tires for now. I'll need to find a way to mount just 1 but that is a project for another day. I am still undecided on electronics for this but It may just be a stock 27t axial and an esc/servo off amazon to get it running. |

Thanks for resizing photos, now I can see how cool this build really is. Looks like you're in for a bunch of fun! Looking forward to following your progress. Ernie |
