Default 4wheel Indi portal RZR

This build initially started after a Moab trip with my 1:1 RZR 4. Surprised by it's capabilities on the rocks I decided it might be fun to build some similar in 1:10 form. Using my full size as a template I've come up with a pretty radical suspension design that I've never seen in the rc world. I started off using a hpi mini trophy truck thinking I would use the suspension as a base.... Well 5 months later the only thing left of it is the rear portion of the tub and rear diff (for now) and for testing I will retain the plastic cage once I have the suspension dialed in a little more I'll build a custom steel cage.

The rear suspension is simple, custom trailing arms mounted to axial portal knuckles with 2 symmetrical connecting tie rods. The flex is incredible and only limited by the axle shaft. For the rear shafts I used vaterra twin hammer front shafts. The diff housing is hpi but with axial 43/13 heavy duty gears and spool.

The front suspension is a little more complex. I used a element ifs kit and portal modded it with axial portals. Then I flipped the suspension around so the steering would be behind the arms. I also had to mod the steering rack so the servo could be mounted directly to the chassis to keep everything nice and low. I used an aluminum pan for the bottom to connect the rear tub to the front suspension. The clearance is amazing, with only a 4.3 inch tire I have 2.5 inches of clearance under the entire chassis. It's a smidge wider than I had hoped at about 9.75 outside of tires to outside. But realistically it's only 1/2" wider than my c2 buggy.

Last photo of the day, a crappy, dark, upside down glimpse at it with the stock cage. Lock your phone screen.

Looks good so far. I dislike how the trophy diffs sit in the pan at an angle. My u joints always got so hot Your rear setup looks similar to a design I have using 3906 Emaxx parts. There's another thread with some sweet suspension work being created.

If limited by the axles coming out of the diff cups:

The Bluemonkey spool for the 1/10 yeti, combined with mip cvds you could gain even more travel. This may also be doable with a e-savage/zilla diff. Must be locked though both fit into the housings

Your lower swing arm looks to be in a very bad situation though. Maybe I'm missing it in the pics, but it appears it will be under a lot of stress if it lands sideways and just snap. I think you need to add one more link

The suspension in your picture isn't trailng arm. The dynamics of rigid mounting the knuckle to the trailing are a bit different. You get a wide angle across the A that makes it really sturdy and crazy travel. The picture is of my 1:1 trailing arm suspension
