Crawler007 FJ40 build Well I’ve had this truck for about 4yrs now and have never finished building it, that hasn’t stopped me from running it though. I’m tired of looking at the light tan color so I ordered some tamiya paints and got to work. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...94fa80e688.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5661619ba6.jpg Added a dent or two https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...311de23f28.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4a398c05ed.jpg A little mustard and white. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...717e9becfb.jpg And started a partial restoration (got the front fender in primer. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...82313c68d4.jpg Found a decent windshield frame still need to paint match it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3093c57572.jpg Added some stripes that turned out to resemble an aloe mail jeep (just worked out that way) https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...30ff380a83.jpg Pulled the old number and and winch https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...abef555021.jpg Got some paint of them. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...16a48d660d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f26ceb4869.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9fc49c1770.jpg Will do some weathering once I get everything painted. Re: Crawler007 FJ40 build It's really, really nice. It looks very realistic and with the real pictures I would definitely think there was a 1: 1 |
Re: Crawler007 FJ40 build Thanks RideDK I took it into the muffler shop this morning, not sure I like their method of getting to the underside but hey. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2469605594.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...98f0f1ece7.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Crawler007 FJ40 build Muffler came out great! |
Re: Crawler007 FJ40 build That's gotta be one of the best weathering jobs I've ever seen. All the details are spot on and the unique color scheme is very realistic. Outstanding...! "thumbsup" |
Re: Crawler007 FJ40 build Thanks for the compliments. I managed to get the full exhaust finished, it just clears everything. I only used one attachment point in the rear and the front is just through the front inner fender and held on there with a body clip so the entire exhaust can bounce around a bit. Hopefully videos will pick up the exhaust movement so all the time and effort wasn’t for nothing. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0a443f9765.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...24a10efd68.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f2479eefc0.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0ecdf38b48.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1e7e85ea07.jpg Got her hanging just enough to be able to get some trail damage! I plan to weather it as soon as I build the roof rack so I can get out all the paints and finish everything at once. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I will get the mudflats on tomorrow morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
