I’ve had the distinctive pd hot rod truck out a few times, that thing is a killer and it’s become my go-to rig.
Some of you have probably seen my ecto build but I picked up one of those and it’s a blast. First rtr since the new trx4 bronco.
Also took the rc speedy out today for some action shots. Held up perfectly even after some tumbles

I know this post is from a while back, but is there any more info on the speedy here?

Looks like a great render of a GoatBilt chassis? I assume this is all custom?

Thanks Ross

Also, sad to see the SCX6 go, I had hoped that is got a similar build to the rest of your collection.

Hey Ross, here’s a link to the c2 build thread.
Rc speedy is based out of Hong Kong, I know they’re chassis mimics a real one but not sure exactly. Some people have had some issues with them but mines been great and exactly what I wanted.

Fricker08 builds an Rc Speedy
Project $2K22
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app

I will definitely own an scx6 again, hopefully the honcho next time. But it worked out for me getting the new truck.

As for what’s going on now, I got the links for the speedy R2, had to modify the skid a bunch which isn’t a big deal. Got the wheelbase sitting at 12.75. May get custom links in the future and stretch that out to 13. The fusion pro showed up and fits nicely. Got the wheels on it last night and it’s officially a roller. Sooo much flex smh may go to shorter shocks. But I’m hoping to drive it by this weekend

I did end up making the trade for the scaled out trophy truck. It’s not in brand new condition like I halfway expected it to be, but nonetheless it’s a rad looking truck and it will go on the shelf until I do a full tear down and freshen it up

And also last night, I tore down my F9 Capra build.. the truck that was inspired by twade984 and sent me down the crazy vanquish obsession. This truck had the first set of vp wheels and axles I ever ran. Owned wheels in the past but they were too nice to run or so I thought.
Work on the body and chassis will take place soon then I’ll start the build up of that.

Where do I start… the speedy is “done” I need to rework the suspension. Still torn on what I’ll do there, but I did drive it today. Either I brought some dead batteries with me instead of the charged ones, the fusion pro battery cutoff at medium is real high or the fusion is just a power hungry motor. Didn’t get much run time due to the batteries dying but this thing looks so damn good. The aluminum panels weren’t doing it for me, so I painted up the lexan ones I ordered with it. May do some carbon panels down the road. Also had to trim the included hood that apparently isn’t meant for this chassis.. smh

And not really 1.9.. but painted up a new body for my sporty also and got some run time on it

Thanks guys! I’m real happy with everything right now. Got that truggy project on the bench next, hoping it will be somewhat quick. Then the restoration of the trophy truck.

Well I’ve been busy, but not accomplishing much. Swapped the speedy r2 to 90ishmm shocks, and what a difference. Looks better, performs even better.

Tore down the distinctive pd truggy chassis, going to clean up and paint the chassis and repair the body. Maybe next week.

I picked up a mikes rc metal works tube rig. Came with all the aluminum goodies. I decided to make it sort of a budget rig, so I swapped to F10 straights, stealth X with IERC ldt. Need to swap to 90mm shocks and adjust the links some more

I got a new rear axle coming for the sporty, got some 450mah 3s packs, going to tidy the wiring and swap to xt30’s. Was hoping to run it at a comp Sunday but that’s not in the cards. Other than that, I picked up some wheels, random electronics and been cleaning things up around the garage

Today was wheel n tire swapping day. I snagged some west desert wheeler cut n shut krawlers with printed foams for the speedy moon buggy. So then I needed some 2.2’s.. found a set of omf’s in the right color combo for a decent price. Got those mounted up and I’m a lot happier with the look than the Baja pro’s

Then I snagged a set of 1.9 black enduros, as much as I’d really like a clear set.. I just haven’t been able to get a set. Either ridiculously priced, or was too late. But I’m happy with the look on the 10.2 project that was done.. then I robbed all the electronics and now I’m back to making it run again. Going old school, throwing a v1 puller pro and Holmes ble esc in it. Undecided on a servo but a shift s2.0 is a place holder for now

Next I’ll be jumping on that tube chassis I picked up, I need to sort out the links, mount the stealth X to the ldt mount and slap in the 500lp I got from DRED805 along with most likely a trailmaster 2200kv motor and copperhead esc.

I’ll try to post more as I go as I’ve got a few other projects lined up also

For a guy that changes rigs more often than underwear, there sure is a lack of updates here.

Man you’re not kidding.. for those who don’t look at the classifieds, both speedy chassis’ are for sale. The other tube chassis is for sale.. and a newborn baby has taken up a lot of my time. The speedy moonbuggy did win the show n shine last weekend at a local event then I tore it to pieces.. smh.

Got some paint on the distinctive pd truggy, stuck in a rut trying to get some smaller projects done but it’ll get there.

In the mean time I’ve been doing some work on my sporty, it got an updated rear axle which took some work. And cut a new front housing for the barber mod. Hopefully I’ll get to take that out soon.

Also the ecto got swapped to links, thanks to twade for the correct shock towers. Sitting at 13” wheelbase now.

I’m looking for something to fill the speedy gap in my fleet but not sure what. I had the chance to buy a ucfab prickle but they’re not cheap. Keeping my eye out for something special

Just about got the truggy wrapped up, score some method 101 v1’s from a guy. I just need to stretch the front end out slightly and mount the fuel cell.
That’s about all I’ve done in the last week or so. Did some swapping and bought some new wheels though.. smh
