| 1.9 Competitive???
I am trying to decide if I want to build a 1.9 or a 2.2? Are the competitions going to start having a 1.9 class? Is this becoming popular? Thanks, Tim |

the way we work 1.9's is that you get an automatic points deduction for using them, and run a separate set of gates on the same course to help counter any advantage a 2.2 would have over a 1.9

I'm with you. I'd love to have a separate 1.9 class at my local comp. for now I'm planning on building a 2.2 to compete.

if they do, i dont think hacked 2.2 tires on 1.9s should be allowed.

yeah why not, cause its just the same as hacked maxx tires on 2.2, or hacked 2.2's to make them bigger..

until a manufacturer makes a decent tire that is 1.9 I don't see why there would be any problems running a cut and shut 2.2 tire, its not like you're making a 2.2 sized tire fit a 1.9 rim, when its over and done with there not very much taller than a Tamiya BFG or Rock crusher tire, just way softer.

It is hard enough getting the 2.2 scale count up.. i doubt a 1.9 class would work for our comps.

| Thats what we did except for the seperate gates, thats a good idea for the next one. I ran a reduced and narrowed masher in the comp that proved very effective in "all terrain" conditions. I agree that untill there is a manufactured 1.9 tire that this is a good home made alternative. |
