i decided to try a different approach to all the cherokee builds on here that are more expensive than most of us can afford so i contacted hulkwerks and this is what we came up withthis is going to be a long build so be prepared.........

you should talk....

where is your build....????........

hiliftcrawler 06-23-2007 10:42 AM

what axles are you using

farakai 06-23-2007 10:48 AM

axles

the plan is to use a set of pti axles i have replaced the input cvd's with tc3 input shafts so i can use pede shafts but as you can see in the pics they are too wide so i am deliberating on how to narrow them i am thinking some brass tube and a saw should do the trick and i have to do that before i can figure out how long the inner bones need to be thanks for the comments i welcome all advice...paul

Before you hack up the PTI axles, I have a set of Highlifts that Ill trade you. Then you can get the stuff for the straight axle conversion etc....

hiliftcrawler 06-23-2007 11:50 PM

or leave them alone and get the look of the jeep with 1 ton chevy axles

farakai 06-24-2007 12:34 AM

jetboat thats an awesome offer but they are too wide and much too hard to narrow easily highliftcrawler i just think they look too wide thats why i was going to narrow them the tires sit all the way outside the body even if i fab fenderwells i dont think it will look right?

crazietj 06-24-2007 01:23 AM

Im diggin the chassy. thats sweet

cembom 06-24-2007 06:07 PM

Wow looks really nice.(<understatement) Is the frame/chassis steel? Do you or whoever built it use a welding machine or like a torch and rod? I am totally new to this but would like to learn how to weld small stuff out of like steel, brass and aluminum. So is it getting body panels or a chopped body at all? Not sure where you would get it but it should look extremely nice.

STANG KILLA SS 06-25-2007 08:53 AM

will you be using one of stephan XJ hard bodies?

Nicklepimp 06-25-2007 11:25 AM
