Next I wanted a scale front bumper. The stock bumper is a split bumper to let the winch go through the middle, like this:

So, I fabbed up my own, using some more of the 3/4" Delrin bar, and some 1/8" aluminum plate I had laying around. It's bolted to the front frame cross bar, so it should be fairly strong.

With the body on:

Most Power Wagons didn't run rear bumpers, so I'm not sure if I'm going to build one or not...

Is it the pic or is the bumper crooked in the top image above?

I noticed that too. The body rocked to the side. You can see if you look at where the bumper mount and body (under the winch) come together. I haven't got the front body mounts done, so it's still sitting pretty loose on there.

Cool mate, just checking. Still think the rig is one of the best executed rigs on RCCrawler. Do you have this posted over at Scale4x4rc.org? I bet many of those guys (that don't come here) would go nuts.

Thanks man. No I haven't posted anything on scale4x4rc.
I know I still need to work on the front grill more. Bolink molds in divets where I have painted black, and they are kind of uneven. Makes getting even black blocks almost impossible. I want them black though, so it looks realistic like looking into the radiator. I'll keep at it until it looks right... I thought about cutting out the blocks in the grill to be even more realistic, but that would be a nightmare.

What about heating up a slotted screwdriver tip and pushing it through the grill into a wad of modeling clay?

I am so stealing your ideas for my F350. Just hope no one outbids me on the frame(s) on Ebay.

Well, after being on hold for the most part due to waiting on parts, I finally got a few things in:

A Novak Rooster Crawler ESC
RAM headlights
and yes, a nice new set of RC4WD Rock Crushers

I'm still waiting on my Tamiya Hummer wheels, which are in the mail system somewhere right now...

I have done a couple minor things recently, such as removing a couple leafs from the leaf spring packs, and cutting off a little more of the vertical piece below the running boards. Other than that, it has been fairly quiet on this project.

I couldn't wait until my Hummer wheels arrived to see what the Crushers would look like, so I slipped them on a set of HPI stock car wheels and threw 'em on!

I think they look AWESOME and the help the ground clearance a bunch too!
All I can say is I can't wait to finish building this thing so I can start beating on it.

That is a very cool build. I never knew there was even a truck produced such as this.

Thanks guys. I went with the Crushers because I thought they looked similar to a Michelin XL or XZL, which I always liked the look of, and figured would fit the style of any Power Wagon I would build...

Very cool build. You gonna bring this one to Roanoke sometime? Maybe I will have the FJ done by then and we can have a mini scale meet.
