| My first custom 2.2 scaler
Well I got a axial and turned it into a comp truck after not liking it with the X-trail chassis. So I picked up a tlt a few days ago and started building. I usd the redi rod for mock up and I will be making proper links soon. The axles are totally stock but locked. The tranny is going to be a AE Stealth T4 with 62pyro's locker (once he has them back in stock). Stampede shafts and yokes. I took the wheels off my comp rig for the pics but new ones are one they way. The front has no axle steer but Im still working on the rear. Heres some pics, and please comment on anything that could be improved. I first started off with this but quickly changed the design. |

Actually I tested it out and they will work just fine. I made the upper links a bit long to give it a better pinion angle.

The xtrail frame I was trying to use was just to limited and instead of buying another one I thought, why not make my own. So i studied some of the ones outcastrc made and came up with this. I think it turned out pretty good for a file and a jigsaw, its just over 17 inches long, wb is 12.25 inches |

Your set up looks to be handling those Rock Claws on that Rubi body even with the stock wheel flairs thats good.

Its a piece of derlin. I got a bnuch of flat stuff in different thicknesses from a plastics place in town. It works good for bracing and skids.

Made up some links today. The bottoms are final but the tops are still mock up. the rear is perfectly square and has zero axle steer. The front it still off to one side so I have to do some adjustments to get it centered. |

Time for a update. I got my rims today (thanks to skellyo) so I was able to get the wheels and tires mounted up. Also mounted up the body for the pics. The ride height is a little high right now, but once the tranny, motor, and batts are in board it should level out nicely. Fabbed up a custom servo mount/chassis brace and did some scale steering. Very little bump steer even when flexing. Couple of flex shots. Its got pretty good flex for a tow/trail truck. |

I like your project a lot so far. Looks great what did you use for the white chassis brackets that are holding it together? |

Both the large piece that are holding the chassis together a derlin that I picked up from a plastics place in town. They works good and are much cheaper than square stock aluminum.
