Nice Job dude, I remember when you had this set up on an sw2 right? Looks much better now The red looks good on the Bronco. Only thing Im not crazy about is the spare, looks a lil bit out of place...maybe its just me.

Yes, it was the SW2. I think it looks much better now as far as scale appearance, but the red hasn't totally grown on me yet. That metallic blue looked really good in the sunlight.

That spare was just for the "mandatory" scale accessory...I had posted that it was just a temp in an earlier post and it's the only other tire I have.

That thing is hard as a rock and it was tough just putting it on the wheel!

I am going to double narrow a 'Pede wheel, paint it black and mount another Slinger on there...should match nicely.

Also, John (Rckcrwlr) distributed a bunch of scale items that we had ordered through a WPAC club purchase. This was just for a GTG and not a comp so ther are more things to come.

the bronc looks great! As I read more and more on this site, I'm really leaning towards making my AX-10 a 'parts donor' and building a scale rig.

I'm curious about the front 4 link suspension, would it have been possible to model the 1:1 ferd front suspension by have a 2 link ( radius arms) and fabbing up a track bar to keep the axle centered?

Thanks for the pics and ideas.

Sorry...haven't been on in a while and didn't see these posts!

There were some others who did the coils like that.

I was going to, but at the time, didn't have the time to do it. The 4-link looks good and at least it has some type of coil-spring look to it.

I've actually only run this once at an outing and then took the electronics out to waterproof them...never put them back in though.

I've got too many things going on!

That's a great looking rig you've done a great job giving it real curb appeal.

thanks for the build thread. can you provide dimensions and name of material used for the build? lol....., thanks. I am in the process of building a scaler of my full size. I see pipe cap......, 1/16 lexan maybe. right on!

What lead springs did you use?
What shackles?

How did you make your coil set up?

thanks dude!

It's been a while and you're probably better off just reading through and using your own ideas along with mine. I actually used Plexiglass from the local hardware store and a pipe cap...dimensions will all depend on the size of the cage you build.

What lead springs did you use?
What shackles?
The springs are metal...don't remember from what but they were the older style.
The rear shackles are the small bicycle link and a half - link. Probabky don't need the half-link, but it actually does let the suspension droop lower.

How did you make your coil set up?
Coil setup is just 4-linked front end. It resembles coils and is easy to set up. I was originally going to duplicate the real coil setup but took the easy way out!

thanks dude!
Your welcome! I need to get my electronics back in there and get some trail damage! It looks too pretty to be a real crawler.

Its sad to say, but I only ran it that one time! No B.S.!

I got out of competing and away from RCs for a while.

I stole the electronics for my current comp rig as I got the bug to compete again.

I do have an older Tekin Rebel that will work with an Integy 35T I have and I can hook up my Traxxas radio to it and an MG645 and it's a runner. Was thinking of a 12 tooth pinion on the R2 with that 35 should run decent.

I also have 2 battery packs for it since I bought saddle packs for my Axial. Come to think of it, I should start a cycle on them and get them back in shape.

It would take only a short time to make it drive again. :(

Actually thought about selling it, but don't know what it's worth as I've been out of the hobby for a while.

What would a RTR be worth?

IMO 3-400 should sell pretty easily, and give you enough to buy a scx10 or something. You could prob get more from the bay. Its a very nice truck, I would put it back together and run the wheels off it

Those are $125 wheels you want me to run off! ;)

We'll see...cycling one of the batteries right now. Got two 7cell 2/3A packs...gonna take some time!

I just wanted to add my Updated pics to an old build thread so they are all together.

Tried a little 1.9 re-do, but resorted back to old school 2.2s which just look so good on this body.

RC4WD Shooter shackles and t-boxes with military wrap leafs...who needs a 4-linked, store-bought truck to get flex!
