I've been teaching my oldest son how to braze & do tube work (he's 11). He wanted a scale/mud truck in the worst way & after getting straight A's for the third time this year...... I gave in He built the tranny and we each built an axle. He also did most of the bends and cuts (it's only a lil crooked!) I held the torch and he applied the silver solder. I even let him do the last few joints all by himself!! Just got it PC'ed and we're gonna hang the axles tomorrow. Well here's the specs:

Looks great! Although... the rear looks a tad odd for some reason. Can't quite put my finger on it.

| It's a roller
Decided to run droop in the front w/ axial shocks to lower it. He likes how it sits, but I wanna move the rear axle back a lil. The rear axle needs locked out & the tranny needs mounted. I have a sheet of styrene diamond plate that I'm a cut out and let him paint for the bed...and maybe an interior Don't know what we're gonna do for electronics. I have a waterproof ESC and I might try one of those warrior 35T's. He wants some wheelspeed! http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture148.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture150.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture146.jpg http://i105.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture151.jpg Max Flex! Yeah he'll be at the comps. He still has his comp rig running strong w/ a few upgrades. He ran twice w/ me up at Freddies. |

How'd he do? Just wondering. Man I wish I had fab skills like that! The rig is looking really good. Also, a suggustion, I have found that a Mamba Max esc+ a TCS BM17+ a 10cell 2000mah battery+ an Axial trans+ A 23t pinion= crazy wheelspeed! I ran that setup in my comp rig, I could go anywhere, I just needed to pull the throttle back. this was fun until I snapped a trans output. |
