Won this on ebay yesterday.This will be my first one.Do you guys think I paid a fair price for what it is,and how could I make it even better?All suggestions welcomed,I am a noob to crawling but not R/C..23 yrs in the hobby and still going

I saw that on Ebay also. In my opinion its a great deal! The parts are great quality and Reign chassis' are the poo!

does appear to be a very good deal.

drop the hitec 645 (or buy/install a dig unit and use it there) and put a STRONG servo in for steering. maybe a JR Z9000T, or Z9100T (about 115 for each) or for the ulitimate, the JR 8711 (140ish bux, but 406 in/oz of torque). you ll LOVE the steering for ever with one. being digital just be sure your epas are setup.

It looks like a good setup! But the 645 has enough torque to turn 2.2's.

Thanks allot guys I was hoping to hear that I made a good choice.I should get it today or monday ,I am siked!!So you guys are saying the servo is insufficient for what it is?Where would I find a dig tutorial that I could use for this?I searched and found nothing but maybe I was'nt thorough enough.

Good deal!!! Like everyone said, upgrade the steering servo to something like a HS-945MG or the mac daddy HS-5955 servo. If you're in 1:1 4x4, the 645 is like turning 38" swampers with manual steering, move you to the 945 would be like power steering. With the 5955, it's full hydro steering. As for the dig, do a search. You'll find the information. Start with the TLT or Axial sections to read about digs. Digs come in different forms and fashions. It's basically used to lock or brake the rear tires which allows you tighter turns.

BTW, the chassis you have is more of a competition chassis than a scale chassis. Scale chassis are ladder-frame style that you see in 1:1 rigs.

The 645 is a barely adequate steering servo. It will work but there will be times when you can't turn the wheels when on the rocks.

I wouldn't worry about dig yet, just enjoy it for a bit and get familiar with it. If you still feel you want dig, the easiest swap would be to drop in an R2-D.
For a scaler though, I think an R2 2 speed would be more fun.

That R2 2SPEED looks sweet.Would that be a direct bolt on to my chassis?Would it just give me a typical high low gear setting?I wanted something to where I have high gear for bashing/offroad and then low for crawling.Would this be servo driven for gear change or manual?

Good price you did well, you can drop in your receiver and dial it in and go find some rocks or take a trail ride. The problem is that all this is addicting and you just spent you first $325 I guarantee it won't stop there welcome to the club.

I'm addicted already and have'nt even gotten the truck yet lol.I am looking at scale accesories and bodies as we type.The more scale looking the more I like it.

yeah I have been drooling over that all day but its waaaaaaaaaay out of my budget:-(.I want something close to that but not motorized,I dont even care if it works at all I just want it to add more detail to my rig.I'm a detail whore due to my many years of building plastic models.
