Default my new bronco

well i am very partial to HPI broncos...
partly due to the fact that its a 73, and i am a 73.

here is my nitro bronco.

i traded that gecko chassis and a few other goods to Mriswith for an Xtrailed axial rig.
its very nicely done with no hack and slash.

so today it shows and ed calls a buddy over to help scope things out.

they decide to tear into things....

shit yea !!! its even got composite fenders, SWEET !

lets get a look under this thing...

no, not that way i meant under the hood.

very nice all the hardware matches, its got TCS boomerangs, axial shocks in droop, geolanders on proline beadlocks....

very nice truck. i couldn't be more excited.

so here is my stable as it sits now....

i now need a few small things to get it on the road. i will be making some bumpers and such. i will also be looking to one day get this thing a ragtop.
thanks for looking.

do the 50 mph grass and bug smashies count ???

honestly like i said, i couldnt be happier with this new truck.
i have been drooling on it all night, waiting to get to the hobby shop afternoon tomori.
i got to pick up some lugs, and a few other things...

i love the geos on it too. not too big, not too small... maybe needing a bit more grip.
( perfect excuse to get a winch )
i will see how it runs once i get the thing fired up. i do see some bumpers coming. i'm just not sure if i want tube style bumpers on it, or a plated bumper.
i'm open for hints, tips or clues.
even opinions... i'm not weak hearted.
i even have a few questions,
like should i take a body pen and trim out the doors.
did you notice that Mriswith has replaced the rusted fenders with new composite ones ?
i want things like that to stand out.
what type of bumper would you put on it ?
i want to find one spare 1.9 something to put on the back of it...
wink wink.

great work Mriswith. your attention to detail, and skill is very much appreciated.

thanks for the compliments although
i didn't build any of it. i got it in trade.
i have always loved broncos, and hope i can only do this build a bit more justice.

i only wish mine had either a hardtop, or a canvas top.

both of which can be fabbed.

i got it all up and running after midnight last night.

my short trip to the hobby shop turned out to be a bit longer than my wife had hoped.... hahhahaa.

i ended up scoring a brand new futaba S3305 for 20 bucks.
(open package)

i converted all my batteries to deans, and also traded the rooster esc for my super rooster.

i was thinking of putting on the aluminum rims with the imex ghawgs....
but they are bigger than the geos, and i didn't like that.
it was hinted to me that a set of flat irons look killer on it.
so i might go that route.
my next mod will be bumpers.
then its off to ditching the old magnum 2PL for a 3CH radio...
and a winch.
i am also going to change the motor out for my 55T novak.

I crawled a couple times with Mriswith when he still had that rig. It is a great rig and that droop suspension I thought was pretty cool.

Mriswith did a great job on it, just like all his rigs. I bought a wheely king based rig off him a year ago and it is still crawling like a champ

Flat Irons on Prolines

Flat Irons on Axial beadlocks

Sorry, must be catching a cold or something. Flat Irons are about 4.8 inches tall. Just some food for thought.

I think you should fire Ed he looks like he does more harm than good and hire the kick full time he could provide the plucky comic releif. Sweet looking truck tho I've wheeled with Mirswith once and his rigs are very sturdy to say the least (20lb all steel tuber called the sniper) My first trail rig was a bronco on a MFM chassis.

Hey! The Sniper isn't fat .. just big boned! Actually it's 8.25lbs RTR of solid steel

I don't know where your 'mechanics' will put that winch servo, just keep Ed away from the body work.
