Well, since Ace posted up the videos of our first crawlers it made me want to go check out the pics we had of them. This is what The Duke looked like back when it was called Rashender. That means king of kings in Hebru or sumpin, I caint really remember anymore. The scale crawlers were so much fun, I really loved the look with the Stampede wheels, Masher 200's and realistic steering setup. The Duke will be reborn as a scale crawler this winter; sporting a steel frame, full rollcage, bruiser axles, lights, and Losi JRX2 tranny. Hope you like the pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here it is next to my daughter's rig ![]() Here is the steering setup. The sevo is linked to a bell crank mounted on the side of the frame to look like a steering box. I made it from airplane steering arms (what else ![]() So the top rod is the tracking bar, my early setup had no triangulation in the links because I wanted to use a track bar just like my 1:1 Bronc. The second bar is the drag link, it connects the "steering box" to the knuckle. The bottom rod is the tie rod of course. ![]() Even though some of us are into the comps, we still love the scale rigs.

Also, maybe a scale class would get some bruiser's off the shelf.

Ha, MAYBE. Those guys would probly cover the bodies in bubble wrap though. Not that I blame them, thats why I want to build a Bruiser-like crawler; if I owned an original I'd prolly never drive it either.

I'd be down for a 2.2" scale class. Some portion of the score being judged on crawler looks would be awesome.

Thanks Bigbadwhitey, The Jero platform is sweet also. I have a Tamiya Hummer that I locked up the diffs on and me and Ace used to have a blast at the construction site long before I ever built a Clod. Badtodabone, The amount of detail werk to build a scale crawler is overwhelming. I could not do it for a price that anyone would want to pay. My time aint cheap Thanks BSG, The limiting factor was the steering setup, the suspension (even with the track bar) was capable of much more travel but the steering would bind with much more than I had. It was at about 4.5 inches in 1/8 scale so that was just perfect for a scale 36" of arti. Here is the kind of crawling we used to do, no picking it up when you got stuck. Ya had to get "the strap". ![]() Maybe Ace will post a pic of his AWESOME rear shackle on Big Green. Oh, and Broncos for Life Thanks guys!
