| Rubicon Rebuild
As some of you know, I built my 2.2 Rubicon in 2007-08 build thread is here: Rubicon Build I have since beat the thing over many miles of crawling and bashing, gnarly tumbles and broken parts and decided it was time to revive the poor thing with some new found burliness. I completely tore her down to nothing but axles and some hardware to make room for my new MSD UTE chassis I'm still undecided if I want to stay with a new Rubicon Body, or go Bronco this time. As it sits now, it has the following MSD UTE Chassis Proline 8 Shooters Losi 2.2 Rock Carvers TLT Axles Locked Rear Axle Truss MID CVDs Full Bearings Knuckles (forget what kind) AX10 trans Locked Pede Shafts w/ metal yokes AX10 Shaft collars I still have to drill my tranny mount and get the shafts in, sleeve the links and painta few things then I'm pretty close to done with the roller. |

So I changed my mind on this build, it has transformed into a Bronco. I'm stoked about this one and it should be bomb proof when done. I'm getting pretty close, the Pede shafts are a bit too short for this application and the shaft angle is pretty dang steep but doesn't bind. I have switched to SCX shafts and will have them in soon, also going to use some Losi shocks. I will also be switching to some prototype brushless stuff for testing but you didn't hear that from me.... Drag link is next up with the shafts and new spur gear, get the bumpers mounted and then I will try to get some interior going. Also thinking of ditching the 4-link up front and doing a panhard setup...not sure yet. And yes, that is snow and lots of it. I won't get to really crawl this rig for awhile it seems....Need to bring the front axle back about 1/4"-3/8" inch. Looks like some fender trimming will be necessary as well. |

Looks like an awesome re-build Ty. I like to see the "old school" TLT axles still being used. |

I just raised the body up a bit, looks much better. I'll update some pics this afternoon after I pull the front axle back a bit. | |

The rigs looks really good. Nice and clean!!! How do you like the Losi tires for scale? I've always dug the looks of them and really like the extra height. |

I remember some of that bashing. Trying over and over to crawl up that stream at nats. My Wheely King could use a rebuild since that one too. We did get pretty far up the stream though! Like the switch to the Bronco |
