Default Better late than never (Timberwolf)

As the Colorado Springs crawlers already know, I picked up a RC4WD Timberwolf from TGN.

The rig was used at the 2008 RCX on the TGN table. After the show, it just sat in there shop till a couple weeks ago when I picked it up.

Here are pics from when it arrived.

Look at all that dust

Well I have alot of plans for this rig. And have done alot already.

What I have done so far is to install a set of Axial axles, custom 4link upper links. I had to sell the factory tires and axles to fund the build.

The rig is getting a Sidewinder w/ BEC, 3S Lipo, a new body(something different no one has done before) Its getting a set of white dot rovers as a temp for tires, cant beat the RPP buy 1 get 1 free deal.

With the 3S Lipo and the rig having a R2 tranny, im not sure that size motor to run. I have never run Lipo before, nor a R2.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. For the R2 I will be running a 8 tooth pinion. And I want to run a brushed motor for now.

Thanks for looking

I ran a r2 in my ax10 for a while. had a 16 tooth with a 55t motor. you WILL NOT be happy with the 8 tooth. I would go around 12-15 tooth and a 45t if it were me!

I run a 15tooth 45 turn on 3s and am very happy. My rig also weighs a ton.

Is the R2 the same threat pitch as the Axial trannys? If so I have a 14t and a 16t I can run. LMK

Your right. Does the hobby town that I met you at sell 32 pitch pinion gears? Ill be up there sometime tomorrow. Its worth it to drive up there insted of going to the one near my home, they suck.

The nice guy from the Post Office dropped this by a couple days ago.

Team3six has great products and I think the seats will go good with this build!

I got one but it doesnt fit inside of the R2 So I guess its getting the 8 tooth for right now.

Going to finished the electronics today and get it on the rocks. Will have some pics tonight.

What would anyone watching this think if I re-powdercoated/painted the chassis green and put a flat-black body on? Any thought?

Well I got all the electronics hooked up, it runs! I need to do soem more work before I can get some actions shots. I was running at engineerjoe's test track and after about 2 minutes 2 wheels fell off. The RC4WD wheels dont like my Axial hexs.

Also im still waiting for my Lipo. Today I was running a 7 cell Nimh pack held in place by masking tape, so it was ugly. Will get something in the line of pics in the next day or so.
