How tall are the blocks? I may have some material to make longer blocks.

Sounds good. What do you have planned for the sliders/sides? Are you still planning on boat sides. The cj5 body looks good, maybe if I didn't have so many hobbies/toys I could finish mine. LOL

Thanks. 300hp in a 1500lb car and a short WB should make for an interesting ride. Just make sure you call first to see if it's completed/running. lol

You do some great work man!

I have a question if you don't mind. What do you do when you have to braze multiple pieces together in the same area? Like where the tube on front bumper connects to the leaf spring hangers. In other words how do you keep the other parts from sliding around when you brazed that tube into it.

Like here.

Well it ain't easy, and I got a bit lucky there....basically, in my experience, you will have to hold everything in place to keep it from moving around unless there is a pre-existing braze about ~1cm + from where you are trying to braze something new. If its a cm or more the cool end of the braze will stay solid and hold things in place, but there is a danger that everything will fall apart if you use too much heat. You will develop a feel for how close you can get to another brazed joint as you do this more.

I sometimes cheat and make a small tack weld with the MIG to hold two things together. I then grind that tack weld down and braze the joint between the two pieces of metal. In my opinion a silver braze is going to be stronger than almost any MIG weld someone can do for 98 percent of what we do here with RCs because the surface area of what we are joining is soooo small! I also used to MIG weld my cages together, but not anymore. Brazing also looks much more scale to me.

more soon!

x2 a bar across the top of the shock hoops would be a good idea for durability and aesthetics.

Looks good Verne. Could you put a couple more nuts on the back opening so I can mount a plate for tail lights? Thanks
