Well, I after taking the drivers side off to make repairs I soon decided that I would rather just make a whole new one and start fresh, this ment re doing the passenger side as well. The results were 10x better , now its time to start the back.

top one is the new one, bottom is the old one, you can see the bends are so much smoother.

Thanx for looking

Mike, you are running moabs, rock rings, maxx shocks, sw2 link mounts, alm servo brackets, metal gear servo and you have PLASTIC BUSHINGS in your TLT axles?

Please tell me this was an oversight and will be fixed soon?

LMAO yea I know about the bushings I need to find somone who sells cheap bearings, I didnt buy the bearing kit because I only need the bearings for the axles. It will have bearings though dont worry, I come from a history of racing clods, no bearings translates too: more things broken, more things wear out, less run time etc. Luckly I have only run maybe 2 packs through it since I completed it.

got to ebay, look up tamiya knight hauler bearing kit, seller name rccbearing, I think, get the KH kit because it comes with more of the right size bearing for the axle for less $, $9.99 plus $4.95 shipping. Can't beat it. bearings are 5x11mm for the axles.

Looks good. I'd bend the rock sliders up at an angle to make it look more like the real deal, and I'd tie it all off with a bumper that wraps around the headlights like these:

How many 5x11's do you need for 2 tlt axles?

4 per tube, 2 per knuckle, 2 per pinion so 10 per axle

I'd say use it as a template to make your own. Don't chop it up in case yours doesn't come out right, but if you make the bumper, you can tie it in to the rest of the cage. You also won't have the two screw holes in front. Of course, if you're lazy like me, keep the prefabbed one on!

plays with toys - I was thinking the same thing but I am worried that 3/16 brake line tubing wont looks big enough to be a bumper . Does anyone know if there is a next size up that looks as a scale and where I can get it. Tieing it into the existing exo would be the ultimate scale

Ben thanx for the compliments dude. In reference to trimming are you talking about the stock body bumper? I was thinking of cutting it straight accross right at that line under the turn signals? Is that what you are talking about?

later

Hey guys, the tube work is almost done  its taken some time to get it right. I am scrutinizing every tube and every bend and every joint. For some reason if its a little bit less then perfect I freak out and want to re do it I think my Step Dad will want to kill me by the time I get done with this, he has been helping me out quite a bit. I am thinking I want to powdercoat it when its done, I think itll make it look more like "1 piece" and really clean it up nicely.

My original design for the back came to a hualt when Jeff realized that we wouldnt be able to get the body off so we had to re do it a bit. I found some 1/4 brake line tubing and used that for the rear to try to match the front pre runner bar. Plus it will be a little bit heavier duty if the rear tire carrier goes through as planned.

Well here are some pictures

Theres some pics I didnt post of the original idea before I realized about getting the body off.

Thanks for checking this out

Mike

Make sure there are no Specialized items on that list, they will pull the plug if a shop sells stuff online. They have people checking on this all the time.

The runner looks awesome. I'm going to make some fender bars for my Truggy as well.
