Well I got the frame repainted. Looks new again! Also fabbed up some decent mounting locations for the tranny and "floorboard". They were pretty hacked before. And added some braces up front that will be holding a custom 8 cell batt pack instead of using the sub c cells mounted in the chassis. Lots of advantages with the new location and added voltage. I need some opinions on a few things before I reassemble it. 1. Should I take the wideners off? Im going to rebuild the axles and shave some material off the stub axles to get more steering, but not sure if I should take the wideners off first or not. 2. The windows on the fj body... I really really wish they were clear. Option 1: cut them off! run just the bottom half of the fj body. Option 2: Try to remove the paint? And what would I use. Option 3: Spray up another FJ body? Also where can I find a nice sized steering wheel? Im thinking about making some floormats, and a shifter/boot to go in there as well Maybe a dash, and the list goes on! |

I'd try cutting out the windows and tapping holes for some really small screws in the top corners to keep it from flapping around. The rig looks perfect, man.

Id cut the windows out carefully and go up the LHS and buy yourself a nice new sheet of clear lexan. I just bought a sheet from my LHS for 1.76 to do a tonneau cover on my one truck, cut it to fit and use lil screws and paint them body for the windshield. The side windows I would just leave or cut them so they look like they are rolled down a little bit thats always a nice scale touch. As for a dash, the land cruiser dashes are flat, I would contact outcastrc (he lurks here) or over at scale 4x4 as he made some really cool printable dash guages. I would go with a bruiser steering wheel or I have scene someone recently use one from a nylint. As for a shifters and boots, I used old bruiser shock boots for mine in my Bruiser, I had some re production boots that were very similiar but they didnt sell I stil have some left, give me your address and Ill drop two in an envelope for you . For the shifter itselt I used a industrial style paper clip with a shifter ball from my step mother sewing kit that I stall off some of her needles she had in it. As far as floor mats go, I had some fake leather that I cut up then labled with a sticker, I did one on my one Bruiser (sold it b4 I could take pics) and put TRD on the matts, it looked cool Mike Edit http://www.outcastrc.com/ check out his landcruisers interior, Im pretty sure he had some where on his site a spot where he uploaded the dash guages. Added a dash, got everything mostly assembled again, left the wideners on to clear the shocks, but I did increase the steering! Also the windows are rolled down |

It collected some dust for a while. But I cleaned it up and took it with me to my favorite fishing spot. Snapped a few pics of course The truck also made the front page as one of the rotating images. That was pretty cool |
