| My Just Bugged 2.2 Alright, turns out it is not that hard to post builds here, so as I stated in My Blazered Honcho tread I figure it is about time to start posting some of my builds. I have been lurking in the background for quit a while, gaining all kinds of valuable kowledge from you guys (thanks). This is one of my favorites. I can’t take too much credit for this one as I purchased it from BILLYGOAT, tore it down, and reworked it. I can’t remember who build the chassis for him, but they did a great job. I basically replaced all the links, adjusting the geometry and added a RJ2’s four link truss. I also changed the wheels and tires (I know the tires aren’t comp legal hopefully the new ProLine Super Swamper 2.2s will be the size I need, not too tall – Rok Lox and not too wide – PitBulls). The biggest improvement I made was changing the steering to BTA. It freed up the front end articulation and eliminated the bump steer. Anyway, rather than boring you with what I did, here you go: Let me know what you think. |

not bad, just to warn you though there are going to be people saying that a bug budied rig is not scale. I did this a few years back and that happened to me but i have seen a few bug bodies on some 1:1 rigs before. Keep it up.

| Thanks, I will be interested in seeing what kind of feedback I get. BTW the body you painted for me ended up on my super, and it looks great, I will post it in the Paint and Body section when I get a chance (now that I am getting this posting thing down). |

Maybe you should secure the body better. It could help when you are on the trails.

Nice to see this rig around still, I built this for Scale Nats 2009... I think. And believe it or not (at least when I built this) the body was very secure on the chassis. And I asked Ben about it and at the time he said it met scale requirements. That is a original Tamiya Blitzer beetle hard body I bought in 1994. Some of the photos I took of it when I finished it. I hope you enjoy her. |

| TURTLE you did a great job on this one, it can seriously crawl. I am glad to hear it should meet the requirement for 2.2 Scale Class Crawling. I did picked up a new Sand Scorcher body (looks to be the same as the original Blitzer) just in case I ever destroy this one, but hopefully I wont as I like the well used look. I checked out a couple of your other build, you put together some trick looking rigs. |

Thanks man, I appreciate it. The goal behind this one was to crawl, and If my memory serves me correctly, the geometry is based on a Bender Customs SW3. Thanks again for the props, I look forward to seeing what you do with her. AND if you ever decide to get rid of her I would be happy to take her back. Ty |

| I decided to start working on this one again. For whatever reason, it continues to be one of my favorites. Started off by adding a roof rack (need to wire the lights), now I am trying to figure out how to add an interior. Here are a couple pictures next to my Honcho. Not quite the same scale but not too far off. |

| I still have it but I haven’t messed with it much, as I have been more focused on my 1.9 rig. When I do run this rig it feels like I have and unfair advantage, the damn thing can just plain crawl. Also, I have seen where Rogue Element Components has been coming out with some cool Sand Scorcher parts so I might make some updates. Last edited by jlsandkes; 04-23-2012 at 05:33 AM. |
