Default What 2 speed trans to use?

Ok so first thread...

Ive been lurking on here for ages and have really been inspired with the awsome builds that you guys are churning out.

I recently bought an Axial AX-10 with which I have had a blast but now I want MORE!

The plan is to build a formula offroad/ KOH rig. But to do this I want to run a two speed trans. From what I have read on this site the Summit trans seems to be the unit to have BUT I cant seem to find anywhere that sells a complete unit. That is why I am drawn to the RC4WD unit. It dosent help that what ever I buy will have to be over the net because its a little tricky to find things locally. I live in New Zealand. Get this not even a proper RC shop in the CITY where I live ( Wellington).

So what are peoples experiences with either trans? Pros, Cons?

Thanks in advance

Pic to show the direction in which I want to take

With a splash of....

Although...

So many ideas! going to try and stay with a cruiser theme just because you cant beat the FJ40 but who knows

Check ebay for Summit transmissions, I got mine there brand new for pretty cheap. Love the tranny so far, seems pretty tough and has a good speed differential.
