| Tubed Bruiser Build - added some body pics
Here are some pics of my tube frame bruiser project. I bought the welded frame and cage from Lue. The axles are from a blazing blazer. Wheels are the old bruiser beadlock wheels from RC4WD. I made some steel front shock hangers as seen in first pic. Nothing fancy. I got it all mocked up using super scale shocks, rc4wd r2 tranny, RC4WD bruiser leaf springs, Bruiser Builder leaf spring hangers. I will post more pics later of the frame and axles after powder coating. Not sure on which tires I will use. It currently has hammers on it, but I might swap out for something else with more height. I have some spooky crawlers that are NIP, but I am not sure how that would look because these bruiser wheels are pretty wide and the spooky tires are very narrow. Using a hilux cab on this project. The frame fits nicely underneath. Not sure if I will go with an interior yet. Hope you all enjoy. Last edited by sbaugz; 10-19-2010 at 05:41 AM. Reason: added pics |

Nice! Going to paint, powder coat, or go for the aged look with a little real and fake rust? |

I just got it back from the powder coater. Here are some pics showing the powder coating. I went with a place called absolute powder coating. Shipped it off and got it back all finished for like $40. The finish is textured iron and its very subtle. The color is close to the color of the raw metal. I went with this so it looked natural, yet still had rust protection and didn't show scrapes as much since the metal underneath is similar in color. I will post more pics as I continue with this build. |

looking at the above pics, the only thing I wished I would have done was to send the RC4WD tough armor front bumper to be powder coated in the same finish as the frame.

did some work on the bruiser the other day. Modified a hilux body with diamond plate around bottoms, filled some holes, and cut out the doors. Now some more finish work and paint. |

Wheels are the true scale beadlock bruiser wheels from RC4WD, which are no longer made. They are made specifically for bruiser and blazing blazer axles. I have had several people practically try and offer me their first born child to get those from me. Very rare now I guess. | |
