I run the Red 1/8scale versions of the Gmade shocks in the "sprung setup" I run these shocks upside down to prevent any chance of leaks, as well as keeping weight towards the axles. These run smooth as butter and the springs are able to handle the weight of my wreckluse. I tried the Pro-Line scaler shocks but they leaked heavily without any type of use. My understanding is that their first batches had some gasket issues. I have yet to rebuild them. Also the springs were a little soft for the weight of the wreckluse. I tried the RC4WD Dual Spring 110mm Scale Shocks. They were beautiful to look at. They sucked as far as working the way they should have. The suspension had to go through a few compression cycles before they start to work. This had to be down by hand with a good push. The piston felt frozen; its best way to describe. I basically ran them free of oil except for 2 - 3 drops to keep piston lubed. No damping. Just working with springs; it kept bouncing all over the place. I took a chance and purchased the Sparks Comp Shocks (120mm) only to have them work in the same way as the dual spring shocks. The were always stuck on the initial compression. I had to run those with no oil as well. I tried the Axial Comp shocks. Those held up a little but eventually started leaking; even after a good amount of plumbers tape. The Gmade look great, handle nice imo, and have yet to leak (mind you i have them mounted upside down) Last edited by Lobonyc; 11-04-2010 at 07:28 PM. |

I've been running the Losi Comp Crawler shocks and they are great. At first I had the 110mm RC4WD dual rate shocks on and they kept sticking. I finally removed a seal and now they are very smooth with a few drops of oil. |

The Losi shocks are a great choice as well. I have a set of them on my bronco and i must say they are smooth and responsive. | |

people may disagree BUT man oh man the Venom Creeper shox with the internal anti roll springs under the piston and the stock, OR green AE springs work really really good and never ever leak, I love them!! they are threaded, on the thinner side for scalism, smooth as butter and work killer!! also they are cheap!! OR go with some Losi 4 inchers, they are a great shock OR Traxxas big bores work good too!! I do wanna try the G-Made shocks tho, those look great! |
