I know what some of you are thinking... "WTF this kid is building another truck??? why doesnt he just finish his other 18 fawking trucks he has???"

Well....thats true....BUT I cant help myself :flipoff: ....I have a RC truck addiction. They say the 1st step is admiting you have problem  On a serious note, after the truck Ill be recieving next week from Unimoger, that will be the last truck I buy for a long time...Untill I finish this and the rest of my projects.

ANyways, I got this from my buddy Jeff (braceysdad) I had been nagging him since he 1st posted it months and months ago... Pretty much anytime he posted and I posted back it ended with "Hey Jeff, whats going on with the Bronco". When he PM'd me that if I wanted it, it was mine, last week I was siked but at thought it sucked to see someone as funny as he is leaving the hobby. Well I got it and immediately started building it up this weekend.

1st thing to do was to lay paint on the new body he also through in for me

this will explain why I wanted it so bad ;-) Kinda matches the real thing doesnt it? :)

After paint, I made a trip to 2 different LHS to pick up some hardware, top 4 links, moabs, lathe motor and some other random bits. 100 bucks or so later and assembly begun

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco015.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco016.jpg

A while back someone on ebay was selling BRAND NEW built pede trans for a good price, I bought one just because...figured Id needed it some day. I had an extra complete diff assembly so I didnt have jerk around degreasing the other one. filled it with JB weld and slapped it back together.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco017.jpg

I was shocked when I was in the one LHS, I asked the guy if he had lathe motors and he turned around and pulled one right off the shelf  I couldnt believe it and fr 20 bucks I couldnt go wrong

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco018.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco019.jpg

I got it pretty much rolling

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco020.jpg

I still have to install a servo, my SR and lock the rear steer still and finish up detailing the body.

Specs:
Boyer bronco chassis
aluminum threaded shocks with 35wt oil and losi yellow springs
locked pede trans
locked tlt axles
cut HPI Bronco body
JR FM reciever
JR Servo
Novak super rooster
55t Integy lathe with 10 tooth custom pinion ;-)
MOABS with cut foams
RPM wheels
king black foot half shafts
pede sliders with steal yokes
12" wheel base

Stay tune for the finished product;-)

Unimoger 04-03-2006 10:57 AM

Mike, fawk you, you have way too much $$$$$ for a kid your age! J/K , nice score, great build as always. Jeff will be very missed around here, but hopefully if we all post pics of his great trucks, his legend will live on.

Nice truck, What rims are those? They look to shiny for pede rims.

dezfan 04-03-2006 11:30 AM

Hey Mike looks great! The wheelbase is long, but the longer I look at it the cooler it looks like that.

Hey dude, yea I had to sell the jeep, something had to go, it was a cool truck though. I just want to work on some other things which means I needed more money $$$

The wheel base is 12 and 3/4 of an inch with a cog just under 3 inches

Sweet build! I love to see the top cut off to show the nice tubing work.

rckjeep 04-04-2006 12:17 AM

you don't have kids do ya? Nice work. I wish I had the time to build one so fast. I've got tons of ideas just no time to build them. It looks sweet though.

thaclodking 04-04-2006 08:14 AM

LMAO haha yea guys, no kiddies for me  , as I was discussing with twisted the other day on AIM, im 20 years old and live at home. My only bills are really my yota truck payment and vehicle insurance. Im lucky enough to not have to pay rent thanx to momma dukes, she must love me alot  Plus I usually work 6 days a week, durring the week I work for a mountain bike company and when I work saturdays I work for my local bike shop Soooooooo this leaves me with $$$ and time to spend on RCs which is my favorite thing besides bmx riding and skate boarding. Bmx and sk8ing dont really cost to much and since I drive a Yota thats practically problem free, only thing I gotta worry about is the 1:1 Bronco...that thing gets costly :x

1bad, I've changed my mind. I want it back.

That looks bad. I knew it would if you ended up with it.

Got some more work done on the Bronco, I spent most of the time finishing up the details on it, I think it has a good combo of scale looks and performance.

He is the articulation photos

Here is some of the body detailing photos, I tried to keep it looking like my EB

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7.../bronco031.jpg

Mounted up a spare drive shaft

I finished the rear steer lock out and I had to extend the drive shafts front and rear. Only think left to really do is hook up the servo
