Default "Country Boy Customs" Class 3 -TTC!

I know I started a thread last week about a timberwolf but I changed my mind. Now its gonna be a scx10 based rig. Here we go !!!
!!!!! "Country Boy Customs"
SCX10 based custom tuber "Country Boy Customs"
Axles- blackwells
esc-HOLMES TM
Servo HITECh
batts 2s lipo from HOLMES
SPektrum rx
35t HOLMES
ROK LOX
axial all metal tranny (gonna get a vanquish dig)
the axial tranny and motor of my choice along with axles I should have a bad motha!! Scaleapalooza HERE I COME!!!

Well today i gathered what lil I do have. run2jeepin has some stuff I need to pic up but I thought I would go ahead and start.

Now after getting some measurements and chompin at the bit I started doing what I could do. I cant get carried away to much without my scx10 rails.
notice in this pic the side post are rough links. Ill trim those when I get my rails and decide what I want my boat sides to be like!

Its gonna be a pretty simple roll cage with a truggy rear end.

After gaining some momentum I decided to keep flowing!

Now this next pic is as far as I got because I want to get my axles mounted and set the cage on the chassis to figure out whereI want to pick up at. The rearend will be longer than shown. IT will get a lot more work in the back.

Anxious to see this one come together Steve! I'm sure it will be drool-worthy with those Blackwells. Now hurry up and git-er-dun!

This next pic will kinda let you know what direction im going with the chassis.

This is after I attached it to rails. Note: Now I have to figure out how I want to do my boat sides because I want this to be friendly when it comes to change tranny, motor, etc. You see what im talking about in person. YOull kinda see in the pic of the side view. I had a bobble and it disrupted the design. Ill manage though. Gotta have boat sides!!!!

This is a Stinger shot. This is for JARED!!! I love my Hustler so much I incorperated it. Can you guess what piece of the chassis the stinger is,lmao??

thIS IS THE SIDE VIEW

Now its getting better. Finally mounting and mocking up. The rear end definately has movement and smooth. Its goin to rock. I need to shorten uppers about an 1/8th though!

Things on the way!
1- front blackwell
1- VP dig
Things yet to come that I want!
Interior components
Winch with seperate remote
HOLMES 35t motor
I will tell you one thing. this is my 3rd full chassis and I promise you every time you do one youj figure out some way to do it better next time!! This chassis will be for sale after scaleapalooza and V2 will be wreckoned with.

Done a lil more mocking up today. Waiting on my front axle and some other stuff to finish so I thought I would get to work on the minor stuff.
Kinda figured out my direction on the Chassis mounted servo.

Got my dig in but man it aint gonna fit with my 7t cobalt puller. Servo will touch so I guess it will be a chassis mount for this one too.

Over all look of elec mounting and etc! It will look clean when I get my side walls and fire walls built

Now the rough task of linkin everything up.

Dang thing is alil bit high but dang its smooth!

now i need to work the bugs out of it and get the steering rdy

Overall im pretty happy. I need to lengthen the WB a little bit. It sets att 12" now.
Damn there's ijust so much to do. Need to mirror my tranny also I think. Im running into a prob with my driveshaft and links cause of the dig. What a pain!!!

Ass yopu can tell in my last post the thing is too tall. I hated it so I fixed it.

Got my suspension where I want it. It dont twist like a motha now but thats actually better!!!

Also got my steering mocked up. Ill build a mount for it soon but this will be fine for now. Reall with all the stuff these axles have going on I dont think they are so COMP scale build friendly! They eat up a bunch of room. Maybe if I was better I could make em work better but they are Bad @#S!

I still got the rearend to finish up. Not figured out exactly what I want to do there!
Hope you all are enjoyin this build its really my first hardcore build!

I am! Looking better all the time. Since those Blackwells are giving you trouble getting everything to fit and line up, I have some Axials I'll trade ya straight across. Just trying to be helpful!

Well I got it on the rocks today!!! Believe it or not the steering was flawless,The truck handled alright except tires. I did start my final teardown after finishing up the rear end and dig servo mount! Primed up ready for paint. Oh and the power house posing with the chassis!

Oh and I forgot. I had to turn the upper bevel gear around to reverse the axle direction today before my run!

I love a build with the Blackwell axles, but it sucks that they havent held up, first ive herd of them breaking, but there are very few builds that use them.

Well I will say this they are awesome. I talked to tom a rc4wd and he took care of me. Hes a good dude! Sniper is bulding Titainium stub axle pins with good results so maybe thats my answer!!

Glad you liked the build.

This Rig will be up for sale soon!

Well I won the scale class today in Springfield mo. The truck really did well. I found a few bugs to work out nothin major. "Country Boy Customs" really did well the first time on the rocks!
