Default POCKET CHANGE....A Southern Style Rock Bouncin' JK

well, Art (aka TheManCave) asked me about tacklin' this build about a week ago. i was hesitent at first, because i was sorta burnout on doing custom builds for individuals, an by NO means am i wanting to be a vendor, i just build these for local guys near me when i take a notion. but Art has giving me free reign on this build, to more or less build this rig as if i were building it for my self.

anyway, with that said, here's what we've decided to build this rig around....

ok, well here's what we decided to go with for rolling stock........2.2 mayhem remachined monsters with a custom set of cut-n-shut (by me) 2.2 rc4wd two faces.

and for the main link between these wheels/tires and the chassis, we're gonna use these...................

I'll follow! The pressure is way off when "Build it like it's yours" is on the table. I'm sure you'll pull out some pretty cool tubework for it.

well i started off by bending up a set of custom frame rails out of 1/2" square steel tubin, then drilled them for a scx10 skid.

then sliced them in half, length wise to form 2 identical rails.

well, i got a bit more done to the chassis, i made this front clip out of 3/16" solid rod.

i also mounted up the skid and bent/shaped the front of the rails to accept the tubed front clip and got it welded to the rails.

and here's just a few shots with the body mocked, sitting on the chassis.

Well, I was off yesterday so I made a trip to LHS, and suprisingly, I found all the rod ends that I needed to build the links with. I used a mix of revo, and stampede rod ends and balls, using some revo balls in stampede rod ends, and vise versa to fit the 4 link mounts on the axles.

I also got the rear shock hoops bent up and welded to the rails. So it is officially a roller now.

I will post up some pics later this evevning after work.
