Default Boyer FJ Blue Ox Replica *Updated*

Inspired by:

More pictures of the 1:1 can be found in all the event categories here: http://www.fourwheeler.com/2005toptruckchallenge/events

Replica:

**5/5/06**
(Boyer's pics)

More pics and info later. Gotta get beauty rest for RCX ahhahah!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**5/15/06** Finished the body work and mocked up some bruiser axles......LOOKING FOR ANOTHER SET TO BUY!!!

Can't wait to start beating this thing up! I think I got the wheelbase really close to the 1:1 and I plan to use All-Ts or Masher 2ks. Shame the Claw Dawgs are so short and squared.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**5/18/06** Painted all the body panels and mounted them. New plans for the rig are to acquire another set of Bruiser axles, powdercoat the axles/frame black and paint the knuckles yellow like the 1:1. Planning on using the Holmes Revolver Outrunner in this. Power should be enough even though it's heavier than the average TLT. The alcad chrome paint on the back looks kinda flashy but I like it better than just a boring silver.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**10/9/06**

This project has been a long time in the making but I've now got all the body work done. I finished the tool box and fuel safe too. Dash is from an 1/18th Nylint Jeep. Just have to install electronics and driveshafts and it'll be ready to beat up. After I'm happy with the performance I'll strip the cage and powdercoat it flat black. (It's far too pretty....it needs some ugly.) All the body work was hand cut. I made the fuel safe by cutting down a radio shack project box. I'm going to run Mashers instead of the Moabs and haven't decided on wheels yet. After a while I'm also going to redo the front bumper so it looks more like the real rig's. I'll get some seats in there too.

Nylint tires were based off the full size tires. They're
Mickey Tompson Baja Claws.

The tuber looks great! I cant wait to see it done.

Yeah I'll probably mount some 1/5 Nylints on it for looks and give them a chance. If they don't function well. I plan to get RC4WD 2.2 Beadlocks/Moabs on it. It's a pede tranny and i'm gonna use tlt axles for now. I'm playing with the idea of putting bruiser axles under it cause I love them so much on my other Boyer.

Watch for more updates when I get the rig and start building!

Got the chassis today!!! Wow it's amazing. Now I'm conflicted on what axles to use. Theoretically, since it's an all out scale rig I should go for bruiser axles no? We'll see I suppose. Wish I wasn't moving soon cause I want to get to work on this right away.

Nope just moving over near Pasadena. Trying to find another set of bruiser axles. Don't want to cannibalize the original. John tells me that was one of the first chassis he built.
