| MThead's TTC... "Gringo"
Thought it was about time to build a full out 2.2 beater. Picked this up as a roller off the board a while back, it's a great chassis to start with. It's a MG200 Black Betty, Trenton does some great work and builds his chassis strong for the abuse. You can find him here: MG200 Designs - chassis and tubework vendor First order was a tire swap, needed something bigger with more meat. Opted for the RC4WD Boggers. I did a bit of foam work but will wait for trial runs before cutting or siping the tires. While I was at it I decided on a different wheel look and had the inner section of the CaC EZloks anodized black. Now that the easy stuff is done, on to the transmission. SPECS: Hot Racing aluminum transmission case from TCS (well used so it took a trip with the wheels ) Robinson Racing AX10 outdrive from TCS Robinson Racing Idler gear from TCS BDW Motor plate (here) Super Shafty Bomb proof top shaft (here) Robinson Racing 32p Steel spur (link in super shafty thread) and finally, Norm of Team3six sent me some of his Rocklube to try out (here) Mmmmmmm parts... Mmmmmmm gooey stinky parts.. but they sure do run smooth. 99% done, missed the fact that the Super Shafty top shaft took a 5mm nut to hold the spur on . Motor will be something different, it's still in the works.. More to come, front axle next.. |

| Thanks guys! I have a different body in mind too, just need to see if it's worth anything before I start hacking.. Quote:
You always crack me up Dez.. Me or the rig? Thanks Chick.. Ok front axle time.. The roller came with all Axial aluminum parts but I wanted to try out the VP 8° stuff as you know everything they make is killer. Specs: KC beef toobs (here) MIP CVD's (Thanks Kaetwo!) Hand Bro's CMS mount from TCS Axial Overdrive R&P from TCS VP 8° Chubs (VP) VP 8° Knuckles (VP) FELSENFEST Spools (here) Be back in a bit.. | |

Looks like a good start so far John. That tranny looks really bombproof. No Super 300 CVD's though for the steering?

Wow you've got some beef going into this build. Nice to see this chassis getting built up. I hope those MIP CVDs hold up...because I am predicting some serious horsepower |

Looks good. If you have enough power for a 32p spur you have enough to destroy the MIP. Even with a Gunnar pin I killed mine. But it'll be fun doin it lol. Subscribed |

nice! that roller should be a great start. looks like your beefing up. curious to see power plant. im building a axial trans for a 1/8 40x75 Neu, so im curious to what you do and how it holds up.

Awesome!!! I love this rig, if only I would have seen it come up for sale before you...... I can't wait to see what you have for power, that way I can make my motor bigger. I think I've got a killer idea for a brushless motor setup but I need to build a new rig to fit it in there and try it. Axial or MIP CVD's wont last. I'd put 4ws on it and run stock dogbones. You'd lose some steering but gain strength. But please get some video of those CVD's letting go under full "stupid pedal"..... |
