Default Project Taco (my2coma)

I am new to the rc scene, but I am loving it.

Here is my Honcho RTR (accidentally order instead of kit)

After a few mods

Roast them down... we're going bigger !!!

Default Now to go 2.2

I decided to cut the body and put a set of Rock Lizard tires with bead lock rims.

cut bumper for better clearance.

What a difference they made in its ability to climb!

Welcome to the scale world! Keep tinkering. The more time you spend on here the more you'll get hooked. Enjoy the axial, it's probably going to be the best rig you'll ever own (straight out of the box!)

Couldnt find any steering links for my rig... seemed to all be out of stock

So I decided to make my own.

picked these up at the hobby shop today

Got some 1/8" round stock

JB Welded the rod ends on, and cut to length needed

Looks like it may work OK... guess time will tell.

So far so good.... took it out for a ride today & it performed flawlessly.

The turning radius does suck with the bigger tires though.
That said, it climbs really good with them. Guess they are staying for now.

Your truck looks great. Our scx10 made it about a week as a 1:9 truck. Just couldnt do it and had to go 2.2 as you did. These trucks looks sooo much better with bigger meats. I like the paint job you have going too. How does that brass tubing hold up to abuse? bend easy?

i know the brass is good looks wise, tho it might not slide on the rocks because its soft my aluminum ones were like that so i went to steel.

The 2.2's made a heck of a difference. Climbs like a monkey.

So far the brass is holding up great. No bending and they really dont scratch too easily. I polished them earlier. Nothing like a little bling bling

Been wanting to get the upper links, but cant seem to find a set w/o having to get the lower ones too. I really like the ones I made. If anyone knows where I can get the upper links let me know
