Danno's RCP Wreckluse build

Hi Everybody,
Found a Wreckluse on CList with some extras. It was a new chassis and pretty good deal so I bought it! I really like how these things look when finished with some scale details. I checked out all the build threads on here and got a lot of ideas. I have built a few Tamiya trucks, (Jugg, TXT, Blackfoot) and also had an Emaxx , but I havent attempted anything like this project. Right now, my only other truck is an Axial SCX10 Dingo. Love that thing! But.....this is my first attempt at something of this scale and using STYRENE too!!!!!
Follow along as I stumble through the build !

First thing is to do some tig welding. Made a light bar guard, tabs for tow shackles, spare tire carrier, and a servo/winch mount.

As soon as I figure out how to post pic's, I will.

OK, Here are the pics with the Tig Welding complete. Almost forgot...
Thanks Stang Killa SS for the kick ass grill! If you happen to read this, where do you find light buckets for those big holes?

Mocked up the links using these RC4WD Rockstar wheels with Rock Crusher tires. With the 90mm shocks, the tires rubbed the frame in the front with very little articulation. So... I bought these 120mm HR Internal spring shocks.

I'm using Dinky links on the F and R and used the RCP reccomended lenghts for the links. I did have to add spacers to the front uppers.
I also notched the Transmission mount to run the lower links inboard.

Bought these Junfac drive shafts. Had to notch the skid plate for clearance.
Got everything close, so now..... on to styrene interior.

Started with the floor. Got the initial cutout done, then built the tunnel over the axial trans.
Next, built the forward fender wells, then the rear trunk and rear fender wells.
PITA!!!!! to get all this to be removable, but I guess it came out okay.
This is what I ended up with....

Bought these Wraith seats and a whole bunch of other stuff (to be announced) from RPP. Great company and fast ship to Hawaii!

Started on the Dash and console. I'll leave this part for now until I'm ready for lighting. Rhttp://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/...t/P1010733.jpgPP dash kit.

Cut out the exterior panels in aluminum.
I want to hinge the the hood, so I built this cowl out of styrene.
I used 2.5 mm for just about everything.

Gonna do some crawl testing. Lemme know what you all think so far.
Any suggestions are welcome.
I'm planning on running this in my yard and already started to build a crawling area! My kid loves the trucks.

How'd ya find a Hunter Dan doll in Hawaii???

I used these in my lightbuckets: (not exactly "scale" (9LED's), but the perfect diameter and VERY bright!)

Really nice build thread! Great pictures. It looks like a fun rig. If you need a companion, I have a timberwolf chassis I'm not using. Pm me for details. Keep up the good work! A video when you get it!"thumbsup"

Nice! I might give them a try, except I have burned out every led (10) that I was going to install. Gotta do some research on how to put lights in.
But.....they are the right price! Thanks for the info.
PS, Hunter Dan traveled 4000 mi. from the mainland!

Wow, Nice Dually!!! I gotta take a few videos when I'm finished.
Do you have the TWolf chassis only? Almost bought one of those.

Well, got some more work done. Seems only a few people are interested, but I'm having fun! Did some crawl testing...This thing is pretty cool.
Very slow on the top end, but man does it have torque! I'm running a 3s lipo with a 55T Novak motor and a Noval XR ESC. Thinking about a 35T. Anybody have any advice?
Anyway here are some pics....

Working on wiring:

Went to Radio Shack and spent 50 bucks on LED's, switch's etc...

Installed 10mm led's for head lights, and 5mm for the light bar, 5mm for the tail. Figured out how to wire them (resistors were the key for a 3S lipo)
Flicked the switch and they worked. Took only 7 burned out led's to get it right!

Soldered up a switch and mounted it in the wheel well. Flip the switch and winch control is now the wheel on the transmitter. Got this idea on Youtube.

Painted the body silver with some black on the hood. Stickered it up and added a Jack on the hood.
Still waiting for some scale stuff to arrive.
