Nissan Pathfinder, 12mm axles and more

Here is something I have been collecting parts for, for a LONG time now...I finally have just about everything I need to complete it. I finally got it rolling so I took a few pictures. I didnt mention this build at all, hence the name, only Unimoger knew of it really but he didnt even know what it was. I put the Trekker back on the back burner because I need help brazing the tubing (need somone to hold the tubing while I braze it together) I started bending up the tubing for the bed cage and got frustrated trying to hold it together and braze all by myself...so I decided to put this together in the mean time.

Here are the specs:
-NIB Kyosho Nissan Pathfiner body painted metallic silver with a "flat" black hood (still have to tint the windows)
-Powder coated Bruiser chassis
-Modified Bruiser leaf springs (one leaf removed)
-HPI Goe landers on Bruiser wheels, which will recieve RCKJeep rock rings 3rd gens
-Custom front wheel spacers to even out the track
-Custom front shock mounts by JUGGSTERR (not installed yet)
-Custom rear quad shock mount lowers and cross member by JUGGSTERR
-Bruiser Interior (in the middle of my extreme scale interior build up)
-Bruiser axles with ball bearings and shims
-Rear hubs on all 4 corners
-RC4wd.com Front servo mount with Hitec high torque servo
-Pede transmission with 55 turn lathe
-Pede sliders with steal yokes

them wheels are a lil too wide for my tastes but other than that looking good :-P

ctcballer26 06-08-2006 12:56 PM

Only Mogger knew about it, heh? LOL. That looks good Mike! I wasn't so sure about the Pathfinder body at first but it actally looks really cool on the Bruiser frame. I like the look with the stock wheels and the Geolanders. The wide look makes it looks like a dune cruiser or something. Great job!

Where did you find that body? Add some burgundy and it'd be just like my dad's 1:1.

Thanks,
Jay

haha OOPS but then again you know about all my of my projects and I typically know about yours

If I could figure out how to narrow the wheels and keep the internal lock rings I would :-( guess the wider stance has to stay for now...

Oops I hope you didn't get me wrong about the wide look. I really like that look on that truck!

Awesome. Super clean. I'm warming up to the look of geolanders slowly.

nah I didnt get ya wrong, I wish they were a little bit narrower, I like when the side walls poof out a bit myself but its a PIA to do anything with Bruiser wheels.

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys :)

Well I almost finished up the Pathy this weekend, I had alot of free time with no parents or G/F around, kinda nice :) , I got the shocks mounted, got the tranmission installed as well as the drive shafts and after ALOt of careful measurement, I got the body mounted 8) . I also installed a MSD high lift jack from Ben, I think it looks cool on the back of the tire rack. I am still thinking about a MSD roof rack but I am nervous about drilling holes in the roof...I might have to look at the one on my 4 runner and see if there is another way to do it. I was going to install RCK Jeeps 3rd gen rings but they were a little bit to "thick" since the wheels arent narrowed, so I opted for some JUGGSTERR rings instead...they are still a little bit to "thick" but they'll have to do for now.

I am thinking of taking it back apart and painting the axles black and getting the rest of the suspension peices powdercoated black. I also built up an interior for it, I just have to make some custom mounts for it. All thats really left after that is to install an ESC (tekin rebel 2) and a reciever. Action shots soon, probably take it to "the rock"
