Default F-650 Trail/Hauling Rig, DONE

I have been tossing this idea around in my head for a couple months now. A rig that will be a great scale trail rig that I can build a trailer for to haul the TLT crawlers to a comp with. After reading the thread about the scale rules earlier this week and hearing how people don't think TXT axles can be scale, the thought was complete.

I then headed to the local HS and started looking for a BIG truck body. When I saw the F-650 for thr LST I knew I had my new project

Axles-TXT
Suspension-Juggy leafs with double TLT shocks, springless and turned down
Trans-I,m building it
Transfer case-building that also
Body- F-650

Not sure what else I am going to do to it. I know it will have a winch, going to make some bumpers for it, goose neck trailer set up, and a bunch of stuff I haven't quite worked out how I am going to do. Hoping to have it done by the time the Iowa boys have their comp on the 24.

Make it a Flat Bed. With a winch mounted on it. I'm sure anything you do to it will be cool.

Looks Great Gerame! This thing is going to be cool. Goose neck=Cool
That body is big I have had that on one of my trucks.

The only thing that I don't like is the angle cuts instead of radius on the chassis.

Thanks guys.

Crawlerman, I had a home built trans in the TLT you saw when you were in Omaha. They are extremely easy to make and you can set them up to look really scale. There will be no axle wrap, you will see when I am done with the suspension later today.

What did you use to cut the rails?

Got the springs and shackles installed lastnight. Going to the HS here in a bit to pick up the rest of the parts for the trans and tranfer case.

not to jack, but i think txt/ jugg axles are perfect for bigger scale projects, case in point my 6th cxt

that chassis is sweet, can't wait to see the drivetrain.

Okay, got the trans and transfer case done. I am going to install them in the morning and get started on the flat bed and interior. Not going to be able to see any of the electronics by the time I am done.

The transfer case is pretty simple, but cooler then hell. A micro servo that sits on top of the trans engages the shifter.

Pics are coming, I promise

Just got done painting the body. The ghost flames in the hood took a lot more work then I planned.
