Yup just to line it up and hold it in place long enough to mark the hold locations with a fine tip permanent marker on the fender under the support.

Thanks for all the great comments guys!! Made a small amount of progress. Made the front crossmember, notched the front bumper, cut out the floorboard, and bent up a piece for the rear of the cab:
