First, I'd like to thank Grizz for all his help, thanks buddy. With so many bad ass builds out there, I had a tough time finding what I wanted, But after a few PM's with grizz, he helped me find this. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=816471 Been gathering parts for awhile now. Also, just got my first brazing set-up, a turbotorch w/propylene. Damn these saty-silv rods are expensive! So this will be my first time building a tube chassis 100% myself. Did some bending & brazing yesterday after work & today before. Hope you like it. Not too sure what motor I'll use to power this, but I know what engine it'll have!!! I'll try to some done today after work, may is comming up quickly & I need something for the TTC in, dare I say....Mont...nah, I beter not jinx it. |

Apparently, you aren't taking your probation on "Team Slow Ass Builder" very seriously. Glad to see your making faster progress than I would have. | |

Don't think I need to tell you how much I'm looking forward to this build.....I'd thought of using those axles for my EB somewhere down the line, I'm interested to see how they hold up and work for you. |

Not much progress today, just sand blasted all the joints clean. Also trimmed about 1/2" off the bottom of the sides. I did start on the skid area, made a square out of tube & started to bend more tube for the back half. Not sure if I'm doing this right, since this is my first. Top is done & I like it. Now I building from the bottom up & it seems like it will need much more though & planning to execute. Oh well, Gotta learn somehow........ |

Put in some work yaesterday & today. Got the bottom section built & connected to the top. The body pannels wil have a slight boat side to them. I'm not really feeling the very bottom, probably going to cut it off & re-do it. |

Yup, didn't like the back of the sliders & cut off the whole lower section & re-did it. Took me 3 or 4 tries & I think I got it now. Sits lower too right at 5.5". Also brazed in some tabs to mount the engine. Put the panels on & the axles under it to get look. WB looks like it should be right at 13.5", probably gonna need some wideners too. |
