My build is bad and I should feel bad Come one come all, gather around and experience the event of a life time. Okay now that I have you all hyped up I would like to introduce you to my build thread. Well the stars have aligned and as luck would have it I will be able to attend NWSC this year. I had originally planned on going with DoubleJ but then work said "in a week we are sending you to Florida for a few months." The last day of the trip was supposed to be the 29th of September. Damn I thought well I guess I wont be going. JJ and my trip wasn't going to happen but he would still attend. after all hes got that bad ass rat to run right haha. So earlier this week I found out I will be getting home early and I thought sweet I can tag along with JJ and check out the comp maybe run KOL with my wraith. Then he suggested I run Class3 and all hell broke loose. What was I going to run. All my rigs at this point were in a million pieces and the only thing running was the wraith I had been buying parts for and shipping them to JJ's house so he could run KOL with it. Then he sent me this picture http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1/18615cac.jpg My old truggy that has long been since torn down and collecting dust on the shelf with my nice shiny never ran set of AR60s sitting under it. Needless the say this lit a fire under my ass. The ideas of what I could do with it. The possibilities are endless, but time is limited.( I will touch on this later) now some of you may recognize this truck from its original build. It spent time as a 1.5 http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1/c88550fd.jpg and then did time as a 1.9 http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1/IMG_0624.jpg Those both being very mild builds. Me lacking both money and the resources to do fab work at the time. Limited to a dremel and some other basic power tools. Now its different tho, now I'm working out of JJ's shop. Anything is possible now that I have access to a welder, other machinery, and other heads to bounce ideas off of. the body and most of the chassis will remain. everything else will be new So I have been hitting the hobby sites like http://i1213.photobucket.com/albums/...e-my-money.gif But here comes the catch, time. I wont be able to start building this until the 1st of September and most of the 1st will be spent crawling since I haven't touched a rig in months. Throughout this whole build I will still have to go to work every day so I will have nights and weekends to fab. From September 1st till JJ and I load up the taco and head out for NWSC. What ever Ideas I come up with and whatever I start to build. I will have to be able to have a finished working product by the time we leave. Let the fun begin. Needless to say I'm itching for the 1st to roll around so I can start working on this thing  |

Re: My build is bad and I should feel bad With just 2.5 more build days till JJ and I hit the road I think its time for an update. I was not able to make it home Sep 1st like I was planning on, hurricane Issac threw a wrench into those plans but I did make it home eventually. Been slaving away in the Southern Monkey Mad Lab and I actually made some headway. They say pictures are worth a thousand words so I suppose I will just trow up a wall of pictures and let them do the talking. I didn't take many pictures as this was kind of a rushed build that wasn't laid out at all other than the general idea in my head. I kind of just went about each task one by one and hoping they wouldn't get in each others way. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...CCAA7071B2.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1E74BCC672.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1E48E4FE2C.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps17058a39.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps509734da.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1/83b179b3.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...pse2d221e5.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psba67ec3f.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...CDC7D57D7C.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...CEC28BDFC5.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps1ce05d65.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psf6fd68c7.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psd0d89d46.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps32439dfe.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psb1f3aa2a.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps998c4e7f.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psa5b3e90a.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psf935cb63.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...ps07c5a5c8.jpg http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...pse6a2aa0c.jpg And the best piece of all. The Horns that double as the body mount http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...psc80a35fb.jpg Still have a lot I need to do. build and Mount the front servo winch, mount the rear winch, rear stinger, build a dash to blend the body and wraith dash, wheel wells. plate the bottom and back of the sliders in, find a place for electronics/ water proof said electronics, do the wiring, and I am sure I'm forgetting alot of stuff. |
