no nothing build related, although it's now not letting me build :( bought a new skateboard for the first time in about 15 years and went to pick it by kicking the tail down and stubbed my thumb.... super lame.

Yeah i've put a lot of weld into this... maybe too much...

this is the offending article, not even a week old...

yeah i've done the same wrist/hand 3 times and it gets bad when the cold sets in or i do repetitive tasks, but you just gotta get on with it!

I've been trying to find some more detailed photos of the roof chop but can't find any, what i might suggest is you cut it off(I used 1mm cutting disc in a 4 1/2" grinder then put it where you think it looks right. If you don't like it then you've only lost 1mm and you just re-weld. that was my plan but once i got that far i just went for it.

DAMN SKATEBOARDS!!!!

And the logo fits..."mindless", hahaha

Just kidding....I have 2 of them, nearly broke an elbow after a fall...the swelling was so bad it looked like i had an orange under skin...that was over 20yrs ago.
Never broke any bones like Pale or yourself but i've gotten banged up plenty ...and i hurt in the cold as well.

Speedy Recovery.

Cheers guys. went back to the fracture clinic this morning and got some good news, the fractures they were seeing were old breaks and this time I've only torn ligaments and bruised knuckle joints! so the temp cast got removed and I've now got a wrist and thumb splint. should be a lot quicker to heal and means i can still drive my trucks! :o)

And yep Pale i took 10mm out of each support but that was after I'd already cut it off, so probably more like 11.5mm in total. I can snap some profile pic's of it later if you need? with a tape measure for reference?

Good for you mate, looked I little nasty for a bit there... worse thing when you've broken your hand(personal experience) is when you see your truck sitting on the table and your unable to use it...

Yeah, it's really frustrating! specially as it's a new build and i haven't even had a chance to properly set it up and run it!

Sometimes you wish you'd have broken it instead...heals faster
Broken all my toes all of them on the right foot at one time
The nose 4-times
Took a bullet ricochet on the collar bone in Viet Nam....that one still hurts today

If you are a skateboarder then you're still young...you'll heal quickly, if you give it a chance....be patient grasshopper

Yeah, I know what you mean. when i was an apprentice blacksmith when i was about 17 I managed to wrap my hand round a piller drill backwards (like a reverse clenched fist)... somehow didn't break any bones but shreaded tendons left right and centre. took forever to heal. This is no where near as bad. I managed to work today and it only slowed me down a little.

OUCH OUCH OUCH!!!!

You guys really went thru the ringer....

I'm thinking this wreckluse build should have white panels and a big red cross on the hood...forget the scale camping accessories and trade them in for ambulatory accessories such as a stretcher and crutches.

now that would be cool ambulance crawler , might be a first , I searched it and nothing came up.
You know now that I look back at this thread my cut off wheels might be as thick or thicker then yours so we probably took about the same out, plus i eye balled most of it , the only thing I measured was the 10mm off the posts, I only messed up one bar , one of the rear bars doesnt quiet line up but for my first chop and redo Im ok with it . I dont think it will bother me to bad plus if I ever sell it it will be easy to spot ....lol

OH GREAT news on the hand . mine was 6 weeks in that damn cast twice once for the hand once for the wrist , same arm (R) and yep Im right handed, worst one was the stirnum ,that hurt....... still does

quick update, assembled links and put it together for a mock up too see what needed doing next, quite pleased with how its sitting although I think the steering is going to need some serious work and it's got massive bump steer!

Sorry about the terrible photos, but at least it gives an idea.

still along way to go but heading in the right direction!

South, looking good man it looks lower than mine but it might be the length that makes it look that way . Are you going to paint the rest of the body the same blue? nice color

cheers mate, still not sure what colour it's going to be yet. was thinking i'll get the chassis painted first and then go from there. I've always like powder/baby blue cars though so maybe that sort of colour.
