Been busy with demos chassis but i have been tinkering with my buggy in my head. The hot racing diff covers i have suck but damn $50+ for vanquish covers are out of my price range. Thats had me thinkin, i actually like building brackets and such more than anything so I am going to make some steel diff covers. Not only that now im leaning towards diff covers with bracketing and axle brackets for link mounts and faux hydro steering. Drawing it up while im at school |

Taking some photos of demo's chassis so i snapped some with the new shocks. I got to find some collars and cups for them. Articulation is much better. Sent from my Droid RAZR somewhere in the sticks |

Thanks guys! Its all brakeline. But take bulldogs advice. Chuck the tube up in a drill ans sand the coating off as soon as to get home with it. Much better to work with. Not sure if it could get much meaner. Reminds me of the movie "predator"

Looney, I'd add one more detail to the "hood"...add a small V shaped set of tubes, very small to mimic the v on the "cab" of the the rig. The "v" could be out of 1/8th solid or 3/16 and mount to the removable section of your "hood". Just my thoughts. It might add some interest to the front. Not to copy this, but a mini version of Fatboy's rig post #36 FATBOY attempts a Southern Buggy..........plain and simple My two cents. Either way, it looks sick! Yea its not done. I am going to add some accents throughout. Along with some sweet link mounts and shock mounts to match.

Well i said i was going to redo it and i wasnt kidding. I cut a lot of the back portion off to redo it. I want to make the rear area accessible because i want to run the battery back there. Also thinking about switching to chassis mounted servos so i can build custom axle trusses. I have went back and forth on the fuax hydro steering but i will have to start by moving the servo to the chassis. For now though im rebuilding the rear to match the rest of the buggy and to make more room. Before cutting Oh the horror! Sent from my Droid RAZR somewhere in the sticks |

| Started to put it back together. I need the room for a 3s lipo. On a side note i just picked up a set of junfac driveshafts, and hot racing gears off a member on here. So that is everything i need to get it up and running. Looking to get the tube work knocked out this week and get it painted up good as soon as the weather is nice. If it helps, Holmes hobbies has a battery pack that is an odd shape. I don't know the details, but my little 1800 3s? is a certain dimension, but I saw one in a post that was very different. I know that doesn't help, but search around and maybe it might help you hide it. I was locked into using my battery. FYI. And kudos to the fact that you said "I"m going to cut it up to make it right". I really admire that! |

Well i built a rear axle truss but went back to an axle mounted servo. And i have jumped head first into the fake hydro setup damn you clay! I will get better picks once i have the setup all hashed out. The body is steel so i am going to build a tube bracket and guard setup and tack it to and support it. The shaft is allthread sleeved with brakeline but i think i will be changing that to carbon fiber or something for wear purposes. A lot left to figure out but its a decent start. I cut up a pushrod out a chevy 350 engine and the inside diameter was exactly 3/16 so the polished brakeline fits right it like a glove. Smooth with a touch of grease inside. I can't wait to see how the hydro setup looks. You're going to have to find a way for it to float back and forth with the throw of the steering. That's gonna be a little tricky, can't wiat to see how you do it. I It's a bummer we can't easily hide these damn servos!!! Last edited by Bulldog; 02-19-2013 at 11:58 PM. |

Yea i shortened the shaft on the hydro and started building the links that attach to the knuckles. I hate that the servo is there but im not sure moving it to the chassis will hide it any.:( Sent from my Droid RAZR somewhere in the sticks |
