| Time to build a Class3/TTC rig. I was fortunate enough to score a FJ40 that I built for eric113 a while ago through some horse trading for another chassis....coming soon. The original build was based off a SCX10 with a Proline Bushwaker body and R-1 portal axles. Fast forward to today, it now has a stretched Nikko FJ40 hard body and AR-60's. Chassis will not get much if any changes, accept for a good bead blast to remove the rust from the Texas humidity. Specs for now..... Chassis: - SCX10 based - 3/16" rod for tube work - Custom metal battery/electronics box Body: - Nikko FJ40 hard body (Trailblazer) - custom styrene Wheelbase & track: - 13.75" WB - 11.5" outside of tire track Suspension: - Custom trusses - Custom CMS - R2j 1/4" stainless links - Proline scale shocks (for now) Axles: - front AR60 with 36/14 HD gears Axial universals Aluminum "C's" & knuckles RC4WD ARB diff cover - rear AR60 43/13 HD gears straight axle (current) Axial universals (future maybe) Aluminum "C's" & knuckles (future maybe) RC4WD ARB diff cover Wheels & tires: - LockedUp RC 2.2 Rock Cutters SLW compatible with Agile rings & scale screws - 4-40 Acorn nuts coming soon! - VP 225 SLW hubs - Axial R35 2.2 Ripsaws Trans: - Stock Axial SCX10 (for now) Electronic: - Holmes BRXL ESC water proof - Holmes 20turn Pro - Airtronics 94780M for steering 423 in-oz @ 6.0v - Castle BEC - servo winch - custom 12volt LED lighting ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by R2j; 12-30-2012 at 08:42 AM. | Sweet, I love FJs! Can't wait to see it all finished! The guy that built that chassis does an awesome job from what I hear. |

| Added a stinger thingy, one more bar in the center of the roof and some more support from the sliders to the shock towers. ![]() |

| Nice work R2j! Are you going to add other body panels? And trick out the interior? Cheers, Doc |

Yes, there will be more panels and I'm leaning towards turning it into more of a 45 with a cab back since there is a nice space between the cage and the electronics box. And yes plans include a detailed interior. This body came with a pretty cool dash and neat looking old school seats. | |

| Yea, I had made up a test piece for just the cab back but didn't like the look. Plus I will most likely not run any sort of roof panel. |

| Small update, added some down bars to the rear and since the hard body is cut less in the wheel wells, I needed to extend the sliders as pointed out in an earlier post. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by R2j; 01-03-2013 at 06:57 AM. |

| Man I just love your work. This yoder is mean. Also...I am really digging the surface rust on the cage and the weathered body look. Last edited by Bananaclip; 01-03-2013 at 12:01 PM. |
