Oh gotcha. When I used to plasti-dip my FXR's I'd cut the rubber off the posts after it dried so they'd be able to release heat.

How does the drag brake do for you on the MMP? It must be fine since folks are using them. 40% max just doesn't seem like much to me. I usually run my BRXL's at like 75%.

?
It goes to 100% and has a crawler mode that is 215% or something like that. I just switcehd Hera's to 40% so I don't do front flips during the off road race section of the HH comp.

Oh wow, I thought I read that it only went to 40%. That's cool.

Yeah okay I just read the instruction manual again and it says the manual programming only takes the drag brake to 40%. Do you have to have castle link in order to raise it that high?

Edit: that's a problem for me because I only have a mac at the house. I used to have one of the field programmer cards but it didn't work with my BRXL's so I sold it. I think one or the other needed a software update.

I guess so... I seem to remember someone saying that.
Well, if you do stop over, we can program it.

Cool. I most likely won't make a trip over there tomorrow evening with the wagon but I will find sometime to stop by.

I think we're going to tap that keg next Sat night (5/4) and have a growler party... I need to get rid of all that beer.

Man that sucks. I've got another buddy from college's surprise birthday party his wife is throwing that day too.

Ugh!

yeah I set my drag brake to 40% too after I kept endoing on downhill stuff at the NWITTC comps. drag brakes seem stronger with the brushless stuff than the 35/25t brushed motors I was using.

Well I'll play with it, hell maybe 40% is enough.

Trey, have you considered soldering a female deans inline on the positive battery of your ESC.. Then mount that somewhere you can access it and leave the batteries always plugged in (except for when charging) and then use the male deans as a "key" and plug it in to complete the circuit.

Ive been wanting to do that for a while now but, haven't yet. Maybe soon. You know what I'm saying? Ya know, mount the female somewhere sturdy and have the male separate and literally plug it in when you want power. One key. Thats it.

I have considered that actually. My question with that is this...when it's wired up with two separate batteries that are not being run in parallel or series will it be an issue that the negative leads for both batteries are connected to the ESC at the same time while only one positive lead is connected? Then I'd have to have two female key slots.

Then I have to consider how to charge each battery. There will have to be another harness between the batteries and the ESC that ties the batteries together...or two deans connections coming out of the ESC.

wait, both negative wires would be connected but neither positive to the esc if you put the male in before the split... but can the 2 lipo's be wired together when not running?
I always unplug one of mine from the harness and unplug the harness from the esc after I run 6s (2 x 3s)

Not sure I follow you. What I'm saying is that both negatives are plugged into the negative side of the ESC, both positives are also connected just like if I was running in parallel except the I put a key in each positive lead so unless I were to plug in two keys only one lead would be connected. See what I mean? Still seems like a lot going on. I'll probably just let it run thru the cab like a stock wraith does. I dunno.

That probably would work.

I ran my wires underneath the interior.

no, not 2 plugs. use one, on the single esc wire... before the split.
And if the mmp is under the center console maybe run the plug straight up into the cab

I wasn't planning to but now that you mention it...there isn't any reason not to. Hmm. I'll have to ponder this some more.

Don't mind those battery feeds running through the cab!
