| "To The Point" southern truggy for paulwf150
Local buddy of mine contacted me a while back for a new scale build. Something that leaned more to the scale side with an aggressive attitude to match his driving style. This rig has a dream list of parts for any builder: Proline Chevrolet truck cab Custom chassis based off of Scx rails and a Wraith skid VP front SCX10 shock hoops HPI MT interior HiTec 7954 CC MMP CC BEC Tekin 13.5t Redline 4s lipo Traxxas big bore shocks VP AX10 transmission case Crawler InNovations Maxx outputs Robinson Racing steel transmission gears Maxx shafts Axial hardened R/P, 36/14 Front, 43/13 Rear VP axle cases fully dressed VP lockers VP VVD's VP KMC XD series 2.2 wheels VP disk brake rotors Pit Bull Rock Beast II Crawler InNovations foams 3Racing winch CFM delrin fairlead Mad Dog 2" LED light bar Fast Eddies bearing kit This build has been going on for a couple months and just hasn't had time to post up a week by week update, so here it is quick and to the point. No pun intended. Last edited by CarterFab; 02-09-2013 at 11:43 PM. |

Started building the new transmission, and axles with all the VP goodies, new Fast Eddies bearings, and Rocklübe II. And finally got everything assembled and ready for delivery. Paul will have some wiring to do but the truck is done on my end. Everything still clears nice at full compression Easy access for battery changes and electronics And that's all folks!!! |

Man this thing came out way better than I ever expected. Thanks for all the awesome work. Can't wait to get it out on the trail and thrash it a bit. Gonna have to let it look perdy and the shelf for a few days first and show it off a bit. Going to have one more this added to the list of parts, Got some custom titanium rear HD axle shafts coming from CREEPERBOB. Hopefully they will be here next week and I can get them in before I take it for its virgin run.

That's a good idea. I run his titanium shafts in all my custom straight axles. I had to file your stock shafts a bit to get the old bearings off. They are looking a bit used these days. Hahahaha

I love the idea of a truck that has some southern buggy flare in it but isn't over the top. Also fancy the rear all coming together to a point, very sinister. Perfectly executed! |

I like the southern buggies but to me they all are starting to look the exact same, not good for long trail runs, and will eventually take a rock to the face. Talking about the 1:1s. I love a rig that's at least paneled or even better, running a body still. Paul's original plans were not much how I ended up, it's just one of those things when you start bending and creating, and wanting to be different. He was there the day I bent the back up and approved, so I knew I would be okay. |

Any plan on installing the calipers to go with the VP disc rotors?

No plans on the calipers as of now. Not sure i really want to mess with them. But they would look cool.

Wow. Really cool evolution of the spaghetti buggies. Awesome shop too. Was that a scale poster of the movie Heathers? Weird. |

| Had to go back through the pics to see what you were talking about. It was the iPad on Netflix. It's the only way I can stay in the shop all hours of the evening and not lose my mind.
