Just gonna do a quick little build thread on a 1.9 "clone" of a customer 1:1. He contacted me to build an all out turn key scaler of his Blazer and recently decide that his 9yr old son would probably be upset if he didn't get a toy also. This is the build or the sons rig. Dads will be a 1.9 and I will a link to his thread here once it gets going. 1:1 build thread, http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290050 Here are pics of the 1:1 which has since been reprinted and will post those pics once he gets it back. He wanted something that would get the overall look with out spending too much, as his 2.2 is kind of on the high end of things. I started with buying an SCX-10 Honcho and a Proline K5 Blazer body from RPP, and a Pitbull/foam combo from Crawler InNovations. I also found a set of Axial 1.9 bead locks with some custom MThead delrin rings w/the CFM logo etched in. I donated these as well since they will give him options in the future and really didn't want to remove and re-glue tires. I found some aluminum steering links in my parts drawers and couldn't stand to leave that hideous plastic link on the rig so I donated them so the little man wouldn't have any problems there. Had originally planned on leaving it full top and just matching the paint so that the general idea would be there....but then my mind started going crazy. That just wouldn't cut it and needed to figure out how o get closer to Dad's rig. I know my 9yr old would say something. I had to cut up one of the blazer bodies regardless for the 2.2 build so I went ahead and did so. And then found a happy union of Blazer body and Honcho tube bed. No it's looking better, didn't cost him any more money, and son will surely be much happier now that he has a cage and spare like Dad's real truck. I attached the 2 by using 2-56 hardware on the sides bolted through the tubing of the bed. It's solid and attaches just like a stock Honcho to the chassis. Lol, I was like "Whow, that thing looks really scale." then I noticed the dude in the passenger seat and realised it was 1:1, haha. That actually looks really good with the chopped lexan body with the truggy bed, not bad.

Looks sweet with the Honcho cage, can't wait to see what you do for the rest of it.

It will serve the purpose of budget built scaler and leaves plenty of room for future improvements for the customer and his son. The 2.2 version will be the looker and one to follow. Will start that build this weekend probably and add a link to each thread so viewers can enjoy both. | |

Finally got time to get this rig buttoned up and fixing to head out the door. Here were the most recent photos of the 1:1 while it was still getting worked on away from the owner. He's leaving Friday for Moab and still doesn't have it back and I need photos to build his more detailed rig. More on that later. Now this one is going to his 9yr old so we opted out of putting a scantly clad lady on the hood. Even got the chrome grill with the grey insert Heading out to load up for its trip to Wyoming |

| Thanks Cory. The other clone was gonna be a 2.2 but there is no way to keep it scale with how big the tires would be. So it will be getting 1.9s as well, and he runs Rock Beasts for crawling and Boggers for mud. I've for parts galore for that build. Will be starting that build thread next week.

Just saw this thread, it turned out pretty cool especially sitting next to the 1:1 rig. That paint looks good too, lol.
