| Tacoma Ultra4
Long time lurker here, not a stranger to building though, dipped in and out of the hobby and posted some hardcore styrene stuff on scale 4x4 a while back. Anyway, my brother got a wraith recently and its so awesome I had to use one as a base for a 2.2 rig thats a bit more capable, and a document it on this awesome site. Doesn't look Like a Tacoma yet but il be making styrene rod millen style bodywork when the space-frame is finished. Going to throw a little trophy truck DNA into the mix too, should look pretty cool. This is my first time working with Brake line, Its very easy to shape and work with but for my peace of mind I added some smaller dia stainless pipe inside the main load bearing tubes, for a bit of extra stiffness and a very minor weight penalty. Tube joints fish-mouthed and fitting tightly, ready to braze There is nearly 18 ft of brake line in the space frame now, still feels pretty light though, one more session of cutting and brazing (then a good scrub) should see it done. test fitted the shock set up too, all good. the alu 'L' section will give me plenty of geometry options as I want lots of control over how the suspension behaves Bolting things together at the end of the day with a celebratory glass of beer New wheels next. |

No shortage of talent seen here! Great build! I have built a few tubers from 1/4" brake line, but I use a wire welder. Hadn't took the time to teach myself how to braze yet, lol. Keep up the good work!
