| Toyota Trail Truck
Well, I was going to wait to post it until I had more done. That way this thread will not sit around forever with no updates I am going to be picky with this truck, so it will be a slow build, since I know I will be redoing things I do not like(like I already re-did the frame).. Anyway Here is a pic of 1 of my old trail trucks I used to wheel (84 ext. cab on a 88 SAS'd SWB frame, dual cases, custom sliders, bed, yadda yadda yadda) and I will be trying to replicate it, but will have a couple different variations.. I bought a Toyota body from Brian @ RockWerks and hacked the bed off of it. I cut the tailgate off and will use that as the back side of the cab. I am using 1/2" square tubing as the frame. I will(have) cut it in half after it is bent and use that for the 2 side rails. The leaf springs are a recoil from a lawnmower. They measure 1/4" wide and are 6" eye to eye. Here are a few pics of the first frame bent up and mocked up. The frame is all one piece. The solder was just to fill in some dents from the bending Now since I wasn't happy at all with that frame or the setup, I decided to re-bend up a new frame. Here is what I ended up with and how it is sitting right now.I have my sons truck to build real fast, but after I get that done, I will continue to work on this truck. As I stated, I am in no hurry on this one at all. Ohh, The WB is at 12" in this pic |

Thanks for the compliments guys, hopefully I can get some more work done on it this weekend.. Colquitt- Toyota beds rust real bad over here in the East. So figured I would go ahead and cut it off now and save me the trouble later down the road |

Thanks for the compliments guys.. Finally got the front crossmember/leaf spring holders done...It only took 2 hours to do Still need to just clean/ straighten things up a bit. I had to drill them by hand and got them a tad crooked.. I'll just have to make the holes a bit bigger to line them all back up |
