Beast-2, a Ultra4 build

hey there guys, was cruising through the forums awhile back and found a build I fell in love with, was DOC's beast build..thing was fast looking and had a style I loved! though some pm's and a few phones calls and hundreds of text we had another one of them done..

this is my version of Beast-2

here is the chassis, this thing is super clean! doc did an excellent job!

here is a pic of the axles, I know we all know what they look like. but these were the raw colored ones I sanded and painted the cases. I thought it would look cool to scratch them up on the rocks and show the silver through... just another thing ill have to get up with but they look good for the time being"thumbsup"

Curious what the weight of the finished bare chassis ended up being?

Nice one! I loved watching and reading Doc's build thread. This one should be good too (don't let us down).

Also, you mentioned trouble mounting the tires... Are you using the new CI standard width foams?

I hope to do it justice lol,

as far as the foams yes they are the standard inner foams and firm outers

Yes, I have those new standard foams too.. They are such a pain to mount on my 1" wheels. I feel like the inners bulge too much on the sidewalls making the bead nearly impossible to stay seated correctly... Currently, I am running stock foams until I figure out a better solution. It's winter here, so not much running here.

yea the trick I found is mount the front ring with the bead seated in all the way and then pull the rim back to the back side and work them in.. it was a pain .. took an hour for 2 wheels haha"thumbsup"

ass end
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psc83ee3cf.jpg

nothing special with the making of links..lol, so I rounded up some all thread and revo ends and made some, they will get covered in either stainless or aluminum tubing. and as for the shocks they are temporary. they are losis, which I love but they are to short for the tall tower in the front...
