So after soldering everything up, the MMP is bad. It overheats immediately and then the servo starts glitching like crazy (I have a CC BEC soldered on and the red wire to the RX unplugged)

Tested the Pro4 on the SV3 in the slash and it hauls.

Now to decide to ship it into Castle for "repair" and they send me back a refurb'd 1Cell for $75, or buy a new 1Cell off ebay for $107

Also installed the HD OD and UD gears as well as HR spools so the driveshaft and top shaft of the transmission are the last 2 items to upgrade

Don't castle products have a 1 year warranty? That sucks... I myself hasn't had good luck with castle products. Love the truck. Subd

I got the mmp used so even if it did have warranty it's gone.

And thanks! I can't wait to get it rolling again!

Did you do the drive shaft mod yet ? I recommend it and those drive shafts will take alot more abuse with the mod . I used old aluminum links and left the threaded end out so you can remove them with a screw and I used a brass tube to sleeve the outer drive shaft . I havent broken them but have worn the cvd's out With a lot of full throttle action .

oh yeah, i reinforced the driveshafts on both rigs as the first mod done (used the parts tree plastic) but i'm told by others running this they started breaking shafts at the coupler instead of pretzeling them

I do plan on going MIPs but funds are tight, buying a house

Successfully installed the hobbyking 120a esc. Needed to ground the receiver, but works great!

Decided to toss in the pro4 just for giggles. Glad I did. On 2s it's a beast! Crawls OK, not suuuper smooth but this is an ultra4 trail rig so I'm happy

But I'm not 100‰ happy with the underdrive in the rear. I think I'll like just the od up front but I think I'll order stock ratio hd ring and pinion for this and put the Ud in the rear of the scx10

Tried to shoot video but a parking lot is dull

Hobbyking esc's tend to have crappy low end throttle controle. You can kinda controle it by running a small pinion and lower kv. I have 2 mmp dead in a box and 2 working so if one dies I can swap it out. The other 2 have been repaired like 2 times each by castle. When they work they work great but I'm about done messing with them and hobbyking might be my answer. I like your rig to because the larger size of it makes it look more scale.

i'm running 14/56t 32p gearing right now, but after that test run, i'm ordering a 12t pinion and see how that work

i've got a larger tooth count 32p spur at home but i can't recall off hand the count but i do know it's too large to fit as it hits the driveshaft

after messing with some settings on the ESC, i've come to the conclusion this ESC should work for an Ultra4 racer, but it's not for going slow through rocks as the drag brake is pretty much useless even on it's highest setting.

But I do like that it's pretty customizable (not as nicely as a Castle product) but with the card, changes in the field aren't bad as long as you can access the esc servo plug.

Still have to order the 12t pinion to see

Worked on it a little more.

After taking a nose dive and bending the front bumper cross member, I took the torch to it to take it apart to straighten it out. While I had it apart, I chopped off a bit of tubing from the frame rails to bring the lower bumper in more like the 1:1 and silver solder it back on

Also added a second tube to both the front and rear for 2 reasons, 1 is for added strength and 2 for sway bars.

I ordered a D-lux universal swaybar I'll be putting on the rear I hopes it will take the rolling over constantly

Took the Ibex out to a construction site for a mini bash Session to see how it does. Pro4 ate the stock drive shafts first trip. I knew it would but was waiting till it went to get mips so now it's time

Modeled up a light bar on the computer and got with Andrew at Topshelfhobby who does killer 3d printed scale items. Shot him over the model and asked if he could print them and he did.

Had him do up 3 all the same size for this rig.
Got em home and brazed on some mounts to the chassis and bolted it up then mounted some CrawlerDad v2 leds and this baby is bright!

I have the other 2 I was planning on doing up along the roof line but unsure if I need more light

Brazed on tabs for the rear panels and the wife sticker bombed it with what I had.

I need to make new panels but when I do, i'll order the scale decal sheets

Also bent the hood in around the grille to see how i like it, I need to remake the hood as well out of heavier gauge metal but i like how it looks bent in (like the 1/1 do)

Bringing it to a scale comp (I'll be running both the 1.9 XJ SCX10 as well as trying to see if this is scale comp capable with no drag brake)

Took it out to a city construction dirt dump for a session to see how it does high speed running and small air off rocks and small jumps
It was fun but spent more time walking out to the rig to flip it back over than driving it. The D-Lux swaybar was delivered today to my office but there are no Saturday deliveries so i gotta wait till Monday to get it.

Was able to burn through a 5000mah 2s though but i didn't notice how long i ttook to burn it off.

Had some fun and shot a few gopro clips but i havn't cropped or edited them yet but i did a few pics from burst mode

But after bashing around, the solar D772 let go
Not sure if you can see it in this but this is the only damage i was able to spot but the gear the that the horn mounts to looks damaged

I did keep the first D772 i burned the motor up on trying to make it a winch, so i am swapping out the gears, but i won't be buying another solar for this rig. It works great for trailing but not for rock racing (at least not for me)

So now i get to figure which servo i want.

Also, the stock Maxxis Treps SUCK. . .i've given hints that i want some Pitbull Rock Beas II's and Crawler Innovations Deuces Wild foams as well as new CI glued wheels
