Default "Evolution" by Ultra Custom Fab

I've been drooling over some of Kyle's(wheels7) tube chassis's since he started building them.

I knew that I would eventually get one, but the timing had to be right with my finances.

Well.... An opportunity arose and I took the leap!

I stopped by Kyles house and immediately started talking about what design concepts I wanted and made sure he knew that I was going to challenge him a little bit with this one.

I went home and spent hours looking at various chassis designs thinking I would incorporate a bunch of different aspects. I really liked the wide Open Designs "Evolution" chassis, but wasn't sold on it.
Then I came across a particular "revolution" build on pirate that Made me immediately go from 6 to midnight(if you know what I mean)

It was officially on from that point.

This build will be based off of a modified ultra custom fab chassis main floor pan.

Kyle also took the time to build a sweet radius bender to replicate every single bend the same.

Build list:
Ultra Custom Fab tube chassis
Dlux skid plate
Dlux titanium links
Losi TLR shocks
Axial AR60 axles
Axial HD gears (ud in rear, stock in front)
Vanquish lockers
Vanquish C's
Dlux V2 knuckles and shafts (ofna outers)
Dlux Custom G10 front axle brace/servo mount
MIP shafts
Beefy wraith Trans thanks to supershafty.com
Tekin roc412
Mamba max pro
Turnigy 3s power
Hitec 8380 servo
Vanquish red method 101's with polished OMF rings
Axial trepadors
Ultra Custom Fab interior
TSS billet radiator

Here is the full size rig that mine will be based off of.

Let the fun begin

nice, are those done on a cnc bender... I always try to put a bunch of bends in
one tube length, but that lookd like 4 freakin headaches and a lot of beer to follow.

A decent amount of the main chassis is now finished.

I can't believe how good it looks!

Those radius bars are soooooo sick!!!!

Thanks man.
I have seen a few full size evolution builds, but this one stands out to me as the clear cut winner.

I am a big fan of simplistic yet unique design concepts and this chassis has it all IMO.

Ultra custom fab chassis always stand out to me just for the simple fact that every picture taken is SUPER clean. That is a lot of effort to put in just for some pictures when he could simply take a pic with it all nasty looking and be lazy about it.

To me this really shows Kyles attention to detail and his need to achieve the best product possible. The bar has been raised!

Thanks man! I built myself a radius bender with a Chuck of aluminium and some bearings. Worked out nice. The rest of the bends are done with tube bender

Thanks man!!
All bent with a hand bender. They are a little work. But after building 1:1 cages most my life it comes pretty easy these days.

I like to hear different techniques. On my Screamin 2 build, at one point I did some of the bends on a propane tank. The radius was there and so was I.

Very clean work, definitely looking forward to more updates. Question: What do you use to clean up the joints after you braze?

I don't know who told you that, but it's completely false.

The double B pillar is staying!!!

Good to hear I just don't think it'd be nearly as cool without it.

Make sure Wheels gets the front end nice and pretty, as that's the end I'll have to look at in my rear view each month

Funny, Wheels and I were just talking scale, actually we talk about it about every day since I am so bitter.

We were talking about people running 55" tires, putting a 55" tire as a spare and having a 10 foot wide track width. Oh, Pitbulls.... really? A 60" tire?

Ask and you shall receive.

I just left Kyle's shop and all I can say is WOW!!!!

I had the opportunity to mock up some of the future tube work as well as see it sitting with a rough wheelbase with tires.

It's going to be soooooo bad ass!

The guy is like a mad scientist of tube frames.
Every time I go over there, there is some new chassis in the works that has such unique and cool aspects to make it standout.

It's the small details that make things extraordinary and Kyle is a stickler for small details.

I can't wait to see the next progress pics.

The chassis i recently got from Kyle i basically tried to jump it,catapult it,just balls out today and not one problem. I seriously have an RC addiction now. I dont want to keep reading ur thread because all i will need to do is right mouse click a pm to Kyle and have another one made for me. I had so many people asking me where do they get one of these, meaning my chassis, really i spent probally 33% driving,33% tuneing, and 33% percent telling people where to go to get parts and who they were made from. Dlux probally will have 50 hits more tonight on his site with looky loos
