| Crawler Innovations "Beastly Beauty" - 2.2 Ultra 4 Rig As the U4RC movement grows, I needed a 2.2 Ultra 4 to compete with. I already have "Top Shelf" my 1.9 Ultra 4, build thread: Crawler Innovations "Top Shelf" Ultra 4 The chassis to any build is the starting point. If the geometry is wrong from the get go, it will never perform. I went to Mike Duncan aka "The Doc" to have a chassis built. His Beast Chassis design is well tested and proven. The chassis is almost done, so it's time for a build thread. |

Well....... I got a call from Eddie from Crawler Innovations and was asked if I wanted to build him a Beast chassis. Thought that was a pretty cool call. Eddie makes the best foams out there and.....well I'm going to give him a chassis that will complement his foams and give him something that will kick ass out there I know alot of people have seen my chassis so I'm going to try not to bore you with all the same pics. Here we are starting the build. A few parts that he's going to need are the Vanquish 4'' light bar, 2'' light bar and Vanquish alum housings. A Wraith crossmember and some Hot Bodys sway bar kits. But these are my Sway bar arms. |

All the Beast chassis's come with places for all the electronics Battery plate, holds 2s, 3s and up to a 3s 5000. This is the receiver mount, it face's the motor so dirt from the front tires won't get in. Here I changed the upper light guard, he liked the low profile bar instead of the light above the roof. Than as the VP trade mark Lol... The VP team want a extra light out front, so I added a mount for a 2'' VP light bar. Also in the pic are the tabs for the quick release hood pins. So changing batteries is a breeze. |

Here is the alum front tube for the sway bar. Using my custom saw bar arms with traxxas rod ends and 8/32 links. Here we use 104 mm shocks and a rear sway bar, I sand them down to get the right amount of movement. If you run them too stiff it won't let the suspension work right and if you sand them too thin, they will brake or again not work right. |

Very nice, Doc. Super clean build. All of your work is top notch and look great in the pics and vids, some of my favorite to watch and look at. Yeah I dig those Swaybar too (just need a set built to fit my rig) |

Thanks guys for the compliments. The Chassis has arrived at its new home.......so now its up to the Foam Man to put the icing on the cake..... But for all the work he has going on, it might be a while before we see anything The shocks I run for now are the Integy 128mm fronts and 104mm for the rear. I am making the sway bar arms as I speak, so I will have some for sale soon. Last edited by The Doc; 05-08-2014 at 07:48 PM. |

The chassis arrived several weeks ago and had to be shelved for a while. An opening with the paint and body shop has come up so it will be heading over there next. Unfortunately the time in storage allowed some rust to start :embarrassed: A few pictures of The Doc 's craftsmanship: . ..Uploaded from the lab @ the C.I. Compound... |

| It has not been 100% decided. But since the panels were hand formed and the overall craftsmanship of the chassis is outstanding, this rig is gonna get pimped out. The artist should pick up the chassis this evening. ..Uploaded from the lab @ the C.I. Compound... |
