What about the rc4wd gladiators. They look close to the nittos.

The tread looks good but they only make them in 1.9 . If I did mount them on a 2.2 rim, at 115mm they are still too small.

Cut and shut some 1.9s into 2.2s

The width of the chassis made the front pivot points of the trailing arms wider than the rear pivots , this made some weird arcs during suspension cycling.
The laser welder and some stainless steel was again used to make some offset link/shock mounts and to add some more bling and performance upgrade. I also made the rear pivot bolt closer to the axle , this swung the pinion angle up and out of the way a bit.

I still want a few more scale bits and pieces on this so I knocked up a couple of fire extinguishers out of 8mm stainless tube , a bit of paint and some decals and they are good to go.
There is a left and a right one and they'll be mounted on the rear subframe in front of the sway bar , same as the 1:1 . I might nave to braze on a couple of tabs to mount them.

I just had to get one of these new SSD rear axle housings.

[IMG][/IMG]

The only problem I see is the square leading edge of the 3rd member could hook up on things.

[IMG][/IMG]

My solution was to make a skid from .5mm titanium laser welded together.

I ended up with a nice smooth transition to the output.

After a ton of miles this rig is starting to look pretty rough. Its time for a complete teardown , repaint and fresh skins . Ready for the 7,000 mile trip to Axialfest . I cant wait !

Cheers , all these bits are one-offs at this stage . I may get a vendors star and sell a few bits and pieces like the mirrors but not right now.

It isnt Shannon's AZ5 car but it is a Campbell Enterprise original . I managed to flag him down at the Cisco Grove campground during Axialfest last week and get a couple of pics with my rig . Good Times !!!
