| Re: Szczerba's 2.2 XTV Thanks guys. I wasnt sold on putting the fuel cell up front with the winch but that is how the 1:1 is so I am rolling with it. There will be a panel the servo winch. Farmer, good times will be had. Just got off the lake but I will hit this rig hard this weekend. I am working on my 8x8 Tow Rig as well, over in the multi-axle section. I have an investor and that rig will be finished out right! |

Question about the big bore set up. How well do they handle? I need new shocks, and I am torn between building some big bores, or getting some Kyosho velvets. My kings are headed for the trash because I hate them so much. |

That could work too. No set cut pattern just yet. Just threw some silver sharpie on em to stare at. And to get feedback from smart fellers like yourself. Quote:
Big bores with tuned dual rate pistons are spectacular, IMO. Great for high speed on my 2.2 wraith and my jeepspeed. Check out my jeepspeed build. A few vids there. BB and dual rate pistons will be a test in this slower rig. It takes me about 2 hours to disassemble the shocks and rebuild with the rpms. Each piston set has to be sanded down to fit the BB bodies and the shock shaft eclips have to just barely sanded down to fit in the pistons. Well worth the work. Oh yea and this will be going in for now. Last edited by Szczerba; 08-08-2014 at 07:24 PM. Reason: utty

On the tires, I would just sipe/groove the tires on the stock shallow sipes before removing lugs. But to each his own. Rig is Bad Ass BTW! |

Is this going to be a high speed U4 rig? If so, I'd just do some siping. If you're going to run G6 or lower speed applications, I think your plan will work great with the gold compound!

Class 3 crawler at ECSC for now. ECSC usually has wet courses so I figure a little bit lug cutting is in order. Last edited by Szczerba; 08-09-2014 at 12:26 PM. Reason: sugh
